2008 Statistics
Games: 3
Tackles: 21
Interceptions: 0

Jackson was the MVP of Super Bowl XXXVII as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, intercepting two passes during a 48-21 victory over the Oakland Raiders to end the 2002 season.
Jackson, a 10-year NFL veteran, played the last three seasons for the Bengals, seeing action in 29 games with 28 starts. He was limited to three games in 2008 because of thumb and hamstring injuries. He logged 148 tackles during his three Bengals seasons, with three interceptions, seven passes defensed, three fumble recoveries, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble.
The Bengals also waived guard James Blair, cornerback Marcus Brown and defensive end Victor DeGrate, all of whom were classified as first-year players in 2009. They were on the Bengals' practice squad for a portion of 2008, and all were signed to the 2009 offseason roster on Dec. 30.

Dexter Jackson would add depth, the 3 others haven't really gotten a chance. Should at least look into it.

OK

I'm definitely not one to go after every potential FA.

But what type of Safties are we looking for in terms of depth? I'm guessing more of the coverage types. Or are we looking for a Safety who can play in the box (at a reduced salary vs. R Williams')?

And I'm not sure Waktins is the guy we need either. BP was right about his tackling. It's going to curtail his NFL experience.
