It’s not a good day to be a rookie defensive tackle.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Bengals rookie Andrew Billings had surgery to repair a torn meniscus, and could be lost for the entire season.

Makes you wonder if it is a complicated case or simply guessing by Schefter?

He was dropping in the draft and many teams avoided him like the plague which was odd considering his talent, there was rumored to be a knee injury, wonder if it is related somehow or made worse by this injury?

Obviously downtimes can be different for athletes for various reasons, but I thought for a pretty good tear the recovery time could be up to 3 months. In terms of getting back into the strenuous lifting, drills and obviously back on the football field.

Maybe AS thinks they might just throw him on IR if the tear was significant and downtime+ plus getting back to NFL condition?
