Yeah, I don't know if I'd want to play on "Black Friday" every year. Sounds ominous, plus think of all the fans who'll have to be out at the mall, holding their wives' purses, instead of watching the game.
Uh...purse in one hand phone in the other being entertained....there's always a lot to read after our TG game but the way my wife shops I need all the content I can get!!

Very proud to say that not once in my life have I ever shopped on Black Friday with the crazies.
I might have gotten forced into it once. No desire to be dealing with that mess.

There’s a ”Prison Wallet“ joke in this but I’m not looking to get banned

Would have been great for the Bengals to get it every year. Can't blame them for stepping up and trying.

From an article I read, it was ratings, they felt being NY a huge TV market, they would get better ratings for the 1st game.

Yep, the NFL is getting more stupid. I think a bigger match up would get better ratings overall than one targeted TV market. When you have Steelers fans spread throughout the country more so than Jets or Dolphins fans.

People can watch the game and still shop online. The retail Black Friday's are a thing of the past and even pricing can't get them to return.

I remember seeing what must be terrifying to any husband from this veteran shopaholic about Black Friday. She said the times have changed. She could shop better, faster and get more done online than on her feet.

Black Friday reminds me of the old OU-NEB, AL-AU and USC-UCLA matchups. And TDay used to be UT-A&M.
The only college rivalry that plays now on Thanksgiving annually is Mississippi State - Ole Miss.

Too many fans, and some sports media people, still complain about the Lions and Cowboys keeping the Thanksgiving home game; so the league wasn't going to allow another team the privilege of annually hosting a game over the holiday period (same with the Thanksgiving night game).

It's a money move, it's the only way the NFL really can generate more revenue, it's likely going to be a staple.

So much has moved to online shopping that entire week, is Black Friday even a big thing anymore?

I bought most of my Christmas that way and was done before Thanksgiving without even leaving my house.

Retail Black Friday back in the day was pure NUTS.

Agree, everything is done online now, now I went shopping one time on Black Friday in1996, to get things for the kitchen when getting my first home. Told myself never again.
