Cowboys TE Martellus Bennett (concussion) and RT Marc Colombo (leg, ankle) have been cleared to resume practicing.

Colombo's return will improve Dallas' strong-side blocking, while getting Bennett back will give OCB Jason Garrett more options. It's worth noting, however, that rookie John Phillips played well in Bennett's place against the Saints, catching three balls for 40 yards. Bennett won't make a fantasy impact.

Bennett better get back out there and do something other than tweet and ustream rap songs.

Phillips already has made more of an impact than MartyB.

Still love the kid, but he has to start showing something.

I agree.....I like Phillips better right now: he's just dependable. AS for Columbo: this is exciting. If we could get into the playoffs and have a fresh, healthy Columbo I'm all for it: sorry, just not a Free fan the way some of you are in here. He's serviceable, but that's it. Decent against the pass and mediocre in the run game IMO. Columbo is the much better player when healthy obviously.

Hmm, wonder how far Colombo is from playing. We could use him Week 17 for sure.

That was my first thought when I read the thread title.

Yeah, another great Jerry decision.
Wasn't it Cincy who made the offer? If so, they're record is going to be pretty good so that pick won't be very high. Of course, we could've used it to trade up.

I'm not giving up on Bennett, too much talent and potential...

And hes already got Oline skills as a blocker.

They have said if they wanted to they could add 20 or 30 pounds to Bennetts frame and make him our left tackle for the future if they had to.

Hes got so much potential though and if Garrett opens up this Offense he could really turn it on these last few weeks.

Don't get me wrong. I haven't given up on him.

Marty B has gobs of talent.

He just hasn't shown anything yet. We need this kid to blossom.

I can't see MB agreeing to that. If people think he is "heady" now, I can see him totally bagging it if he is moved to LT.

RT Marc Colombo has been cleared to return for some "on-field work" at practice field this week.

From Todd Archer:

Colombo said "everything is looking good," for a possible return this season and his eyes are set on a possible wild-card round playoff game. Initially it was believed Colombo would only be able to return for the divisional round.

Colombo said the pain would not be an issue but strength would be.
