Bennett and offsides, time to talk

Exactly, and a bunch of people posted it when the trade was made. Bennett is a mixed bag but a great addition for the cost we paid and the fact he is willing to step into a backup role.
Most of the butt hurt feelings bout Bennett around here have nothing to do with play on the field. Fans can be the worst kind of people and I am glad I am not personal friends with most of y'all that think its ok to hold things against someone for the rest of their life, no forgiveness in you, no belief that people evolve or mature.

I agree with your general principal but I don't have a grudge against Bennett. He has always sold out for the pass rush at the expense of run defense and he has always made ticky tack penalties. That isn't evolution or maturation as a player. I really don't care about his personality because Dallas wouldn't have traded for him if they thought it was an issue.

I'm not going to dig out the posts but I said that when they made the trade. In terms of him in the lockerroom, I've always thought that every lockerroom is different and most players that had issues somewhere can fit in fine with a different lockerroom.

He's always mixed in his "cadence reads" and tried to jump when he "thinks" the ball is about to snap, giving him a headstart. Coaches have surely tried to coach that out of him...probably another reason why Belechick didn't put up with him. In today's NFL, you'll get chewed-up if you're doing anything other than snap reads. If Pete Carroll couldn't break him of that habit, I doubt Marinelli will. Bennett is a stubborn, block-head like his brother.
Yep and there's a huge difference between lining up offsides and getting a jump, Ware used to try and get a jump.

He's lined up off sides more than any player in the league since he's been in it. How in the hell does a player line up off sides that much. He can see the ball and the los.
fast twitch muscles.

it's a Patriot thing ... cheat as much as possible and dare the refs to disrupt the game with flag after flag

Haha, right?

Surprised Bennett wasn't caught at the Rams practice filming them before the game.

Soooooo they kept the camera on JG for minutes? I guess you've got a different tv station the everyone else in the world. So let me make up what happened, JG asked politely to not line up offsides anymore, then he clapped and patted him on his butt. Bennett was so terrified that he proceeded to do it again.
went away and then back to show more of the conversation..

He's lining up over because he lacks the ability to simply generate pressure without an advantage. Why press so much consistently if you were confident in your abilities? Ware would get called offsides for jumping and timing a snap, even when he wasn't offsides they'd call it. Bennett doesn't even care and is simply lining up on the offensive side of the field.

I won't call it a Patriots thing, but I do agree that certain teams practice the percentages of playing the flag. We're certainly not one of them, but Bennett has a bad habit of this.

JG didnt get in his face, he kindly talked to him. He was actually offsides after JG talked to him the ref just didnt call it.
I think people would be more upset about this if he would have done it during a play which nullified a turn over or sack. Check the kick offs that go out of bounds. These are "small" and easily fixable errors and can harm you in crucial moments in the big games. FIX IT JG!!

He gets consistent pressure playing inside of out. I'd learn to deal with it.
He’s not making enough plays to deal with it. Our fans making excuses for dumb players. Maybe this was one of the reasons Belicheat released him.

This guy was called for offsides twice yesterday and it could have been 4 times that I saw. I know that he's trying to gain an advantage but this has been happening since he got here but has been overlooked.
He has always been like that.

While in Philly, he had 14 roughing the passer penalties in 18 games. I think 3 of those just in the playoffs games
Were hoping to get those next week? lol

Bennett was asked what his prediction was for the game. He had a one word comment. "Pain". That's Mr. T from Rocky 3 talkin.

It happens every game.
It happened when he was in Seattle.
It happened when he was in NE, and his lack of discipline was one of the reasons he was traded.

He was called four times in a game earlier this season. It was time to talk about it the week after he got here.

It's weird how professional athletes *and their coaches* can't clean up *pre-snap* mental mistakes like this.

It's not rocket science. You just need some consequences. The dline should police itself pre-snap. You get fined if you line up offsides. You get fined if the guy next to you lines up offsides and you don't point it out to him.
