Jerry has said that the team believes that Bennett is such a good blocker, he could be an outstanding left tackle, if they wanted him to be.

That is a ringing endorsement as Jerry is never prone to hyperbole. Endorsements like this are usually reserved from players like Javier Collins, so you know it is special when Jerry singles you out.

Thats impressive because the guy he's blocking #75 is very strong at the point of attack.

Thank you for clearing that up without actually mentioning how well you think he is blocking.

Can't bash Jerry after our first playoff win in 13 years. Just can't do it. :D

Check out http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-cant-miss-plays/09000d5d8159f2e2/Wild-Card-Can-t-Miss-Play-Jones-record-setting-run to see how good of a blocker Bennett has become. There are some who doesn't think he's not a big contributor to this team, but after watching the game again, I've noticed that he had quite a few impressive blocks that helped us score in the Eagles game. In the video you can see he sealed his man on the inside that sprung Felix on his long TD run.

Blocking is only one aspect of the game. We didn't draft bennet to be an extra lineman.

Look at my posts. I can't recall ever trashing Bennett. I've been very pro-Bennett. His blocking is great and I still expect we will be singing his praises for pass catching very soon.

Was just pointing out the fact he is contributing to the "Team" concept and in actuality it shows he is doing what is best for the team and not making loud noises as he is not having too many passes thrown his way. On the long pass to Austin in the middle for 20 yard gain, Bennett was running the opposite route from the right hand side and was open as well about a yard behind Austin.

At Texas A&M that is predominantly what he was asked to do was block. I'm disappointed that he has not developed as quickly as I would like as a pass receiving TE but I have not given up hope that he will get it going. May not be this season but I think he will develop

Bennett is blocking well, but he will never be as fun to watch blocking as Bigg 70 pulling on some poor hapless safety. :lmao:

You know watching it in the filmroom has got to be funny.

RW is not going to get much patience and with good reason he has been in the league long enough. So for RW he has to pick it up now if he can have a good post season it could go a long way of turning things around for him.

As for Bennet yes he is still a young guy in his 2nd year after a great camp and pre season the expectation where high based on his play but he has not brought that to the reg season. Unfortunately not all players develop at the same pace but I think when looking at his skills it is not hard to believe that he will get it going

:starspin I have also been disappointed in his pass receiving development up to this point, and with someone like Witten in front of him, it's understandable that his opportunities have been somewhat limited so far. However, I hope that he will get a lot more opportunities and playing time in camp and the preseason games so that he will be able to develop his pass receiving skills/route running more. I believe we picked him up in the second round, so, hopefully, he will become a more complete TE for us.

Both players are coming along and this offense is starting to gel along with the defense.

Scary part about Dallas is we are playing good and there is a chance we will get even better as we move forward and into next season.
