I do not think he makes the team with a degenerative knee condition. I was really excited about him, but how can you keep a rook that has a bum knee. I was thinking that we would have all the draft picks make the team , now I think we will keep all but one.

From what I read, he may have a similar problem to what Leonardo Carson had last season. Carson was fine after camp, and Beriault may be too. But for the moment, he has a hard time playing every single day. I still think he makes this team.

Write it down... Berryo-O makes the team. He is the second coming of Bill Bates.

Beriault definitely makes the team.
At worst, he's on the Practice Squad until they can fix or manage his knee properly.

He might fall to practice squad if he can't practive legitimately.

I think some of this has to do with him being a madman on the field...we all read about him dishing out big licks. But if you look at his body, he just doesn't have the bulk at this point to play that kind of game for long. He needs to play more within himself from a tackling position. He doesn't always have to go for the kill shot. And he needs to realize the way for him to get playing time is going to be by showing he can handle his coverage responsibilities. We already have a bomber in RW.

Just my two cents.

We'll see how his knees hold up. He may not get enough playing time, which could result in a practice squad spot or maybe PUP if it doesn't improve. I think this new guy from the Jets (name escapes me) may get a long look. He is expected to see playing time Saturday. I wouldn't mind seeing him come up big. We need a FS candidate to distance himself in the next three games. I just don't like Davis or Scott as starting FS's and Reese hasn't made much of an impact.

I think he makes the team. He would be a backup for Roy anyway so he should be able to keep the keep under control. Also, I think Bill realy likes the kid. I think Bill is just starting to down talk him so that he can have an option to sneak him on to the practice squad if needed.

I think he makes the team, and I think he makes it by doing just what he has been doing. I'm sure everyone playing S could use a little honing of their coverage skills, but this guy is a hitter. Let a hitter be just that, not to mention we wouldnt even know this much about him if he werent making a name for himself. He makes it, no questions asked.

Ok I like the kid, local hero around Indy...

But why does he remind you of Bates Fletch?
He is much bigger & faster then Bill ever was...

Parcells will know what he has by the end of Preseason and so will we...

I don't think the knee problem is degenerative, sounds like it's just been swelling up.

I think they believed at the very least he could play SS (Roy's backup) and be a factor on special teams when they drafted. They also probably thought there would be a chance they could eventually turn him into a free safety.

Unless his knee turns out for the worst, he easily makes the team.

I'm no expert ... but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night ...

I think fluid from the knee can be drained and after it's drained it's not that big of a deal ... the problem is sometimes when you drain it the fluid comes back ... and needs to be drained again ... if he's had it for 3 years and played with it ... it shouldn't be a problem as far as a nagging injury or something that should effect his ability or status ...

I thought they actually have said it is a "degenerative condition"?

The fact is any injury to a joint is degenerative if you do not have it repaired.
Just a guess but he likely has some cartilage damage and/or bone spurs which will flair up when you overexert (especially in training camp trying to impress in two a days)

A few days rest and a normal amount of practice will likely make it something he can live with.
