Best 2 QB's playing right now "Romo and Rivers" per Trent Dilfer

Amazing how everybody was calling for Romo to get benched earlier this season.. Now he's MVP material.. That really shows how fickle and Knee jerk NFL fans are..

No, that's putting it much too lightly. Many fans are just complete idiots. Wanting to run off a Pro Bowl QB after a bad game is worse than "fickle", it's sheer stupidity.

Kicker, D, and ST lost the first two games for us ... not Tony R.

So when we win it's because of Romo and when we lose its everybody elses fault. Yep thats Cowboy fans for you.

We may have to get Trent Dilfer his own forum on this board.

He gets more love from the Cowboys fans than the team itself. ;)

Last I knew QB's could play great games and lose, and QB's could play crappy and win. How is that I wonder? Oh yeah....there's 21 other men out there on the field. What do they call that again? A team?

LOL! Exactly. Good luck trying to make some of the folks here realise it's still a team game. They continue to think football is like the Madden football game and it's all about one person.

meaning recently not all season

you can't really bring up the w/l stat to discredit a qb when he's playing near flawless football

look at rivers last year, he lead the NFL in qb rating, TDs, td to int ratio , qb rating, yards per attempt, broke dan fouts single season chargers record, yet only finished 8-8 due to his crap defense + lack of running game

so when evaluating talent, you have to look beyond w/l if the player is doing his damn job

i mean if ware had 4 sacks and you lost, would you blame ware?

No they wouldn't blame Ware. But if Romo threw for 300+ yards and 3 or 4 TDs without a pick and the team lost you can believe they'd still blame it on Romo.

Yes, Romo is the best QB in the NFL.

I've said it for weeks.

No one really pays attention to you though because you can't be taken seriously.

I mean I love Romo as much as any big time Cowboys fan. I think he's great and I'm thrilled we've got him.

But best in the NFL? Nah. There is just no argument that can be made that will make me believe, at this point, that he's better than a couple of other QBs out there. Peyton Manning in particular.

Thank you, but a man who extends plays when it counts, carrys his offense because of a terrible offensive line and runs the ball when his team needs him to run is not only the MVP of that team, but a candidate for best QB and MVP of the league.

So what you're saying then is that Big Ben is really the best QB in the league? I mean after all that's exactly what he does with a crappy Steelers offensive line and he's helped take the Steelers to 2 Superbowl championships already.

No when we win most people realise that Romo is part of the win along with others playing well at the same time. When we lose people also realise that it's not all one player. When Romo plays well but the defense or special teams doesn't show up I still can't see how you can blame that on the QB. Though a few of you continue to try.

When he plays poorly, as he did against Greenbay and in the first Giants game, and in the Denver game then you've got to saddle part of the loss on him.

The losses in the second Giants game or the Chargers game simply can't be saddled on him as his fault as he was doing his job and doing it very well. If our defense showed up in those games, like they did Saturday, this team is 3-0 in December right now.

That is a fact.

And I think you'd be hard pressed to make the case that the 2005 Steelers' offensive line was "crappy."

Assuming that Peyton Manning isn't playing...then yea.

Trent Dilfer has been on the Cowboys bandwagon for quite some time and even said we would win our last 4 games on the radio last week.

Regardless of what people think, Tony Romo is one of the best Quarterbacks in the NFL and is playing at an extremely high level.

Seriously, if you got to choose Brees, Romo, Manning, Rivers or Favre, no matter who you choose, you are getting a really capable Quarterback.

I don't care if Romo is better than Person A or Person B.

He may be 1-2 in December, but he is playing at an extremely high level right and we need him to continue doing so to get where we all want to go.

That's all that matters to me.

OH NO it's the Anti-Homer! Must be nice to be you. You're so smart and it's so obvious for all to see.

When we lose and Romo plays poorly, he contributed to the loss.
When we lose he plays well, other aspects of the team are probably at fault.

What fan on site doesn't agree with this and or consistently shares a view the conflicts with this simple logic.

For the record:

Romo almost single handily lost the Giants game week 2.

Romo was as much at fault in the Den and GB losses as much of the rest of the team.

Romo had little to do with the Giants and S.D. losses. He could have played a little better in some key spots for sure, but team failings in other areas completely out weighed any of his short comings in those games.

I call a spade a spade. The defense is always the red headed stepchild on this board. Even if they hold the Chargers to 3 points in the first half they suck. Offense shouldve did their part.

So far this year Romo does deserve mucho props, especially these last 4 games down the stretch. Romo has always shown the ability, but his decision-making and erratic play at times, especially late in the year really cost us the last few years. He also had the tendency to pout and get too down on himself too easily.

But this season I have nothing but praise for him so far. Hopefully he can keep it up the next two games and then in the playoffs.

I have been stunned by how well Romo has been protecting the football and managing the offense. He is playing lights out football and has really proved me wrong about what he can do in December and cold weather. I mean to think that he has 7 ints and 3 of them came in one game..... he has been amazing.
