Best 5 Guard Combos, Smith and Booker don't make the list

Assuming Smtih is healthy, I'd take Smith and Booker over at least two of these groups (LAR, CHI).

You are clearly the one high. You are the only one that has mentioned Warren. What you did was declare Booker a bad pick and based it on one clowns opinion on who the top OG combos are.

and you do not read well. I said that this is my opinion. what the article says is what it says. My point is that Booker was a bad choice compared to Warren and that someone wrote an article that says, in his opinion, not mine that our guard duo of Smith and Tyler are not in the top 5 of the NFL. Is he right? It is an opinion not fact. Calm down. This is the period of time that NFL fans talk about things that are not intended to be controversial. They are merely musings to fill the void of not having real things to speak about.

Nopel, you are wrong. I created the thread to remind fans that Dallas had the opportunity for greatness but chose a hyped player who just wasn't that great in a program built with studs all around. It was a bad decision, and it still irks me. That is all. Now go back to flipping hamburgers.

Expect he graded out very well and in all likelihood will progress into a multi year probowl level player.

Are you high? You do not tie your homage to Mr. Verderame to any conclusion. I watched Warren for four years, unlike you, I played in a division one football program. My view is that Warren was a much better talent than Booker. Booker is all hat and no cattle. He will be a mid-range guard and no better.

Smith had a down year after signing the fattest interior lineman contract in history and Booker was a rookie.

They certainly weren’t top five but there are seven other position groups on my mind before these two.

That being said, since we are talking about tight ends, I think Ferg kinda sucks and I expect him to continue with a three year decline this season. Bring on Jamari Johnson!

I wanted Tyler Warren in the worst way. But no, Jethro chose Booker. It was a huge reach. Now the duo of Smith and Booker are not regarded as an elite guard duo. Who would have known that these two first rounders are really not elite v

I assumed Booker/smith would be top 5 worthy, but after looking at the list there are some better tandems than I realized. Especially with smith coming off a down year it’s probably fair to keep them off the top 5.

There's an article on ESPN ranking the top 10 guards in the NFL w Tyron Smith ranked #1 and Booker honorable mention, meaning he was top 15. So the top guard and #15 guard doesnt make top 5 guard duo's. Go figure.

I remember when Quin Meinerz was coming out of college from a small school. There were videos of him showing his strength, but more importantly, he work ethic. You knew this guy was going to be good, small school or not. I was hoping the Cowboys would draft him but they went in a different direction.
