To be fair, on some plays Gallup is the 5th option and runs a half *** go route.

Gallup is less than a year removed for ACL injury. Last season coming off ACL, OBJ in 14 games had 44 catches with 5 TD for 537. Gallup in 11 games thus far has put up 35 catches 4 TD for 357.
Do you know what that scaled to 17 games is? For Gallup.

But cedee can't get separation lol

On the bright side, Gallup has become a good possession WR in traffic. He doesn't get open, but he still catches the ball.
I think that's more valuable than being the guy who gets single covered and gets decent numbers out of deep balls on the occasions that he gets open. Any WR can look good against a coverage breakdown of 1 man.

I've said before the Cowboys have also some of the worst routes schemed for receivers that don't allow them to get open. This is in addition to not great route runners anyway. For instance the Gallup 2nd TD late in the game, there was Pollard standing in that corner of the end zone. What kind of insanity is that? The ball looked like it was intended for him in that corner.

Need to spread the defense, not bunch them in to where one defender can cover two guys.

Seems Gallup's only big plays are broken plays where he and Dak improvise. I do think he'll be better, and hope so, because he's one of my favorites!

Not sure how ‘getting open’ is defined, but I read our entire receiving group is bottom of the league in getting separation from defenders. Dak’s performance against zone coverage was exceptional against the Eagles. Hope he keeps that up.

Good point. That was my first thought. What constitutes as being "open".

Also I miss Cedric Wilson more than I thought I would.

Wow that was an awesome td against the Eagles. I've never seen a terrible receiver make a catch like that.
Gallup is frustrating because we've all seen him make these incredible toe tap, fingertip grabs, and then drop the easiest layups that hit him right in the chest.

He has 5 drops in 12 games, tied for 3rd most in the league.
