Gallup is less than a year removed for ACL injury. Last season coming off ACL, OBJ in 14 games had 44 catches with 5 TD for 537. Gallup in 11 games thus far has put up 35 catches 4 TD for 357.
I think Gallup isn’t 100 pct. ACL recovery always takes a season. I feel like guys play but that first year they are not themselves. Year 2 there is a big leap. Usually.

And people think I’m crazy for calling Gallup out and saying our WRs outside of Lamb are below average.

You expect me to believe...Arjun Menon?

He's probably some kind of data scientist for PFF, in which case you probably should believe him because he's using some form of AI or machine learning to analyze the actual data in ways a human brain cannot. So yes, probably should believe... Arjun Menon.

Can we get this same stat last year before Gallup's injury?

So why don’t you trust it? Because you don’t trust the ethnic name?

Do i need to cut a permanent smile on some of you guys faces? Because y'all are too serious. Why so serious?

Just feels like OP was trying to start a fight with a strawman argument. Don’t remember anyone complaining Ceedee can’t get open. There are complaints that no one else can, some of which I’ve made. Would be interested to see this stat for Gallup prior to his injury. Just eyeballing without stats, looks to me like most of his greatest and most important catches have been with a defender all over him or some tight coverage he didn’t shake but came up with a ridiculous catch anyway. He is outstanding at high pointing and going to get the ball. However, I don’t remember seeing him get much separation unless it was just busted coverage altogether.
And I don’t imagine whomever said Gallup is terrible meant he is a bad WR in general but that he rates badly at getting open vs single coverage, which was the stats posted and topic of OP. But instead of making that likely assumption or getting clarification, just “everyone is stupid”.
Yes everyone knows he’s coming off ACL…but did he get open before? Not “did he make a catch” but “did he get open”.
I like Gallup, always have, but would love to see someone added who can consistently beat single man with their route running and short area quickness.

We have been saying the same for weeks. Our passing offense is pretty much Lamb and Shultz

I guess some people are too dumb to understand that paying a wr coming off a major knee surgery, and then relying on him is well... dumb.

Not when you get a bargain for signing him with a knee injury. This was a 5 year deal. Anyone judging it off the first year or first 10 games is a fool. Gallup has had some great moments and definitely hasnt lost his ability to catch the ball in traffic and hold on. Make the tough catch.

So far the Cowboys are looking great in getting rid of Cooper and resigning Gallup. 11-4 with the #1 scoring offense in the NFL.

He wasn't cheap we didn't get a bargain what are you talking about lol

We are playing well in spite of him, not because of him, so I'm not sure what you're gloating about lol

Good point. That was my first thought. What constitutes as being "open".

Also I miss Cedric Wilson more than I thought I would.
He has 12 catches for 136 yards and no touchdowns in 9 games. He has been dinged up but he wasn't the answer either. We are a running team.

From the look of the list the other top receivers aren't getting that many single man coverage

I don’t think anybody has argued Gallup has been good, just that he’s getting better. And I’m still not convinced that TY Hilton is below average.
