So I just got a txt from a scam saying I won $1000 gift card, but I dont just want to delete it I want to stop it. I saved the txt so I have the number and its local this time.

My question is how do I go about this so I can stop them?

(Calling my cellphone company at lunch)

Thanks!

Got that exact same text a couple weeks ago. I just immediately deleted it.

I deleted the first one and now just got another one today, so since they're being persistent then so will I.

I don't know who your cellphone carrier is, but with Sprint, you can block text and voice on your own by having an account on their website, you can block up to 50 numbers I believe. I can even change my number without having to paying for it

Go to Best Buy and try to claim it. Who knows, maybe you might get a gullible employee there that will accept it. If you really are irritated about it, call your carriers customer service and have them put a block on the spammer. They will have record of it in the system.

The best thing is to sterilize your smartphone in two quarts of boiling water with about a quarter cup of white vinegar added to it. If the problem persists, call Best Buy and ask them to stop sending you text messages or you're going to call the police.

With sprint you can just text blockxxx-xxx-xxxx to 9999 and it'll block all texts from that number.
