I forgot about the one in one of the Mad Max movies, where he's driving a tanker truck while being hounded by some Biadasz looking characters.

Cracks me up every time and makes me think of bullitt.

Bullitt is probably the best but I will add another Steve McQueen chase scene to the mix...

Ronin with Robert DeNiro.

The only movie I've ever seen that topped Bullit.

Have to agree with this. There are two absolutely amazing chase scenes in Ronin that could both top Bullit in my opinion. Nothing else I've seen compares with those two movies' chase scenes.

You beat me to it on the Geico commercial. :laugh2:

I've think the one in Bullit is the greatest.

Not the best ever, but pretty cool.

The Bourne Identity, where he looks at the map of Paris, commits it to memory in about 5 seconds, and drives the **** out of that old school Mini Cooper.

*** Warning, bad language in the video ***

This is my all time favorite car chase .. I won't embed it because it has bad language in it but click on the link:

I mean tons of cop cars, Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage, a Hummer and a Ferrari .. the only thing missing is a super model turned actress riding in the passenger seat.

Oh wow, Duel! Talk about a blast from the past. My first car was a white version of that same 65 Dodge Coronet 440. This movie sucks though....big time. :)

While not my favorite, this car chase from The Peacemaker has the added bonus of being part demolition derby, thus, it's one I've always enjoyed.

I thought it was a Plymouth Valiant 1970 or 71.

Can't believe that one wasn't posted. My personal faves are Ronin and The Matrix Reloaded.

You're right! Simialr, but not the same.

Though the car was carefully chosen — a red Plymouth Valiant — there were three cars actually used in the filming.[citation needed] The original release featured a 1970 model with a 318 V-8 engine[citation needed] and "Plymouth" spelled out in block letters across the hood, as well as trunk lid treatment characteristic of the 1970 model; a 1971 with a 225 Slant Six was also used.[citation needed] When the film was released in theatres and scenes were added, a 1972 model with a 225 Slant Six was added, with the "Plymouth" name on the hood as one emblem. All three cars were dressed with wheel covers available only to Valiant models, only in 1971.[citation needed]
The Valiant's red color was also intentional; Spielberg didn't care what kind of car was used in the film, but wanted it to be a red car to enable the vehicle to stand out in the wide shots of the desert highway.[1]

I had no idea that Steven Spielberg directed that movie and it was his first one.

I didn't remember that either. A friend of mine rented it when we were in high school because we were dying to get our hands on anything with muscle cars in it, and I just remember what a snooze it was. The main character is the biggest wimp ever, which is such a departure from most muscle car flicks with crazy chase scenes. We watched the whole movie though, because we had to see what happened and we were/are both suckers for old school cinema. I love movies from the 70's.

My favorite car chases are from the movie "Ronin". Very underrated movie just because of those car chases.

Ah, that exploding car on the track always reminds me of :

Sorry I couldn't find a high quality version where Heather Thomas is in the blue bikini walking through the swinging doors, but there's no reason to watch anything before 0:56 and past 1:01 in this one.
