LT: Tyron Smith
LG: Travis Frederick
OC: Phil Costa
RG: Ronald Leary
RT: Tyson Clabo

-Nate Livings is released

-Leary beats out Bernadeau for starting RG job

-Bernadeau then serves as the swing G/C

:starspin

Hopeful picks for tonight:

2nd round: RB Giovani Bernard (feeling it will be Montee Ball though)

3rd round: DT Bennie Logan and SS J.J. Wilcox

Unlikely we start 3 new players on OL two years in a row.

I do not think the team is giving up on either of our free agent guards from last season when they were playing beside the worst C in the league in Cook and beside Free, while both battled injuries that cost them training camp time.

Well Frederick WILL be a starter so there goes either Livings or Bernadeau (probably Livings). I hope Leary beats Bernadeau out.

If Costa has back problems again this year, Frederick can take over the center position for good. I think injuries may play a big part in the players and positions again this year. Back injuries seem to linger for life.

We are not releasing Livings. For the love of all that is holy people stop posting that nonsense. It costs us cap space to release him.

So forget the agenda nonsense and post reality.

Livings started at LG all year.

If he gets surpassed it is unlikely to be from the guys we had on the roster in 2012, It "could" be from Frederick.

Part of the reason Livings and Bern were cheap last year is they were injured. We brought them in and they weren't full go most of the year. Bern didn't start til week 2 or whatever and missed TC time. Those two should be better whether they start or not.

Free has to be released. He costs at a perennial pro bowl RT level. And he clearly is anything but that,

Do love the Clabo thought. He'd be an enormous, gigantic upgrade. Romo might carry a picture of Clabo in his wallet.

Actually, you would be incorrect about Livings. They never handed in his re-structured contract to the league. It would essentially be a wash if Dallas cut him.

Livings and Bernadeau weren't cheap because they were hurt. They were cheap because they're terrible football players.

if dallas can employ livings at zero additional cost or pay a replacement to take his spot guess what... it costs money to release him.

livings has started all but 2 games the previous 4 seasons (3 of those for a very good OL). that isn't terrible. not even close to it.

bern is a swing player who is a plus back up. he would have been more coveted had he been healthy.

Livings and Bernadeau were so coveted that Cincinnati and Carolina tried to bring them back even to below-average deals....oh wait.

I don't care if Livings started on a good OL. He was CLEARLY the weak link and that's why Cincinnati didn't even attempt to re-sign him.

Bernadeau is a career backup that has never proven anything in the NFL. He was horrific last year.

Livings will cost money whether he's on the team or not, but he brings no value to the team if Frederick is the starter at LG. He's strictly a guard so he brings NO versatility on game day when you can only carry so many active players.

would be nice if you make a salient point in this thread somewhere.

cincy is notoriously cheap and have andre smith twisting in the wind right now too. cincy didnt like evan mathis either....

cincy and carolina knew these guys were injured. again the injury status affected every teams view of them in 2012. dallas gave them both guaranteed money while less than 100%. so we liked them. you have zero idea if cincy or carolina liked them. they took our guaranteed money and walk in starter status.

livings graded out by pff our highest lineman for the season.
bern was the highest for the last month of the season when we were trying to make the playoffs.

I bet we take another flier on a G/C then roll with Parnell. We'd suddenly have one of the youngest olines in the league.
