This team is not winning a SB. Take the emotion out of it.

The best case scenario at this point as I see it:

1 Tank. It is all about the draft picks at this point. Don't get caught up worrying about the cosmetics of the season.

2 Fire Nolan at the end of the season. He was a bad choice. So, let him finish ruining the defense before getting bounced.

3 Jerry needs to be pantsed this season. Completely embarrassed. Next offseason needs to be one of tough, good football decisions. Not keeping around the Crawfords of the world for 9 million dollars producing nothing.

If the tank is bad enough, get a top 5 pick and rid ourselves of a coach that shouldn't have been hired.

Some what agree with you.
1) Forget SB, that wasn't the expectation even when the season started. With our track record for the past two decades, NFC championship should be our first goal.
2) Do not tank, keep fighting as this is a learning year for the new coaching schemes. Even if you dont go anywhere this season, at least you would know if the new system would work or not. You can also evaluate players who are here to play and showing effort.
3) Fire Nolan only if the last game played this season, has the same type of performance from this defense as the first game played this season. That will show if there is any progress that was made or if the system is just not good enough.
4) Agree with you on the 4rth point.

I’ve said this. Tanking 1-15 will embarrass him like never before.

Terrible cap situation, current contracts looking dumb and dumber everyday, QB still not paid, looking like he made the wrong coach hire.

If we go 1-15, which looks likely, he will be downright embarrassed. He will drink himself to going nuclear, and someone will be fired/cut, and Jerry will become the executioner. Some people have to learn the hardway, and going 1-15.... we might be headed the right direction. If the Jets finally win a game, we’re talking first pick here.

Why tank, a 1-15 record will get us the 10th pick, same as if we were 6-10.

as there will be that many winless teams or 1-15 teams with a worse strength of schedule ahead of us.
:lmao2:

But you forget, 6-10 wins the division and a playoff one and done...
And another middling to worse pick

Might be better to take the risk of a true 1-15 tank with strength of schedule and coin toss scenarios

I agree...I am never one to support tanking, but usually because I am hopeful, but I have no hope this season.....

and I would fire Nolan right now......if they suck over the next couple of games against these pathetic offenses, fire him. why wait. that's a warning to everyone in the organization that incompetence is not tolerated....lack of effort is not tolerated....(do you hear me Xavier woods).

Ok, but what should give us fans any confidence this FO can draft us back to contention? One bad year with higher draft picks is hardly a guarantee we get better. I’m still not sure Jerry even has a vision for the kind of team he wants to build...other than a bunch WRs and RBs that he can sell jerseys for.

Every time I see a post in regards to tanking it reminds me of how bad the draft system is. There is clearly a better way yet they insist on keeping it this way when teams clearly do tank.

I cant disagree with this post. I just prefer the better picks as your odds of success increase.

If you think it’s bad now, just wait and see how ugly it’s going to get when Dak leaves and we have a bad offense to go along with our bad defense.

Best case is that the replacements are actually future hall of famers that just needed an opportunity and we end up going 13-3 and win the super bowl

until we’re out play to win

On a personal level, I would agree about just tanking, and Ive never been a fan of the concept and thought I would never entertain such a radical notion, but really... why the H not?
Zero shot as a contender,, this team is the ultimate pretender.
Only one win,, could end up with a top twelve pick the way this season is going if we don't win another game.
Just saying a lot of teams totally suck, 12 other teams in this league with 1 or less wins... lol
This is a wasted season to begin with,, if you want an asterisk SB win, then by all means, all guns out,, teams like KC, Bal, GB, Chi, TB, Pitt, Seattle,, might as well be the entire NFC west.
All these teams will throttle this team currently, so why not just break the golden rule that I have always lived by, never surrender..
So this is a new era for me,, Im subscribing to it, but I honestly feel that it doesnt matter,, of course it doesnt matter what we want to happen as fans is irrelevant, but I honestly as a total life long Bias Cowboys fan, cant see this team winning more than 6-7 games and thats only if there is a marginal uptick in defense production.

Yeah the last time we had a top 5 pick we drafted a RB in the first and an injured player with our premium 2nd round pick. We’d screw this up again too.
