While our defense is far from elite, it has not been devoid of some noteworthy contributors and there are those who really seem to be coming on

The Leaders:

Of course, the key is Sean Lee. He is the general, he is the leader. He is also the leading tackler on the team. He is ties for 2nd place in the league, just one behind the leader.

Demarcus Lawrence is the leading sacker in the league but there is more to him than this. He is the team's 2nd leading tackler. Also, for all NFL defenders witj 3 or more sacks, he is the leading tackler meaning that he is just as effective against the run. He is a total disruptor.

And don't forget, it would have been four sacks for T-Law were it not for a penalty on a different defender.

So which player ranks 3rd for the Cowboys in tackles?....none other than Jourdon Lewis, as in ROOKIE CORNERBACK Jordan Lewis. This guy just reminds me so much of CB Kevin Smith on the 90's team, he has the attitude of a shutdown corner. He is still a rookie but his name will be remembered in the future. I think he will kead the team on INT's this season.

Jaylon Smith is in 2nd place on the team for combined tackles and assists with 24. He is one of only nine players in the NFL with both double digit tackles and assists.

We saw Maliek coming on, two sacks recorded.

The Cowboys won a tough battle against a team in a tough stadium. They got a lot of help from their top ten defense.

That's right, the Cowboys are ranked 10th in least opponent yards.

They will get better as the season progresses, stone cold lock.
