I'm seen some great stuff over the years, and some great moments (Emmitt's record breaker for example) but last night takes the cake for me. I've only been to two playoff games, the other being the Giants game two years ago. There is just something extra special about the playoffs. Everything is just better. The crowd, the atmosphere, the buildup, the meaning of every play...it just can't be matched in a regular season game. As bitterly disappointing as that last Texas Stadium playoff game turned out to be, we certainly popped the cork on the new place wit a vengeance.
Add in the fact that my hatred of the Eags being pretty well documented on here, and this just ranks at the top of the list for me. It was so electric in there last night. And right from the national anthem I couldn't hear myself think. The crowd was just outstanding. And based on some vids I had seen, it looked like there were a lot of philly fans at the season finale, but they were pretty few and far between last night as far as I could tell. Everyone was awesome. The rally towels made it look that much more intimidating, and people were just high fiving and running through the aisles all around me. It was so fun.
The team could not have played better. Absolutely made Jackson a non factor yet again, and Felix could not be stopped. And I could not be more thrilled for Tony Romo and Wade Phillips. Both of whom have been good enough to win their first playoff game long before last night. And it never ever ever gets old seeing McNabb throw balls at his receivers' feet and walk off the field with that look of sheer defeat.
And then all the "eagles suck" and "na na na na, hey hey hey goodbye" chants....man I was so proud of Cowboys fans last night. They definitely did their part. That was one of the best decisions I've ever made, going to that game. It was an absolute BLAST and we celebrated long into the night.
Even if they falter next week, it will do little to diminish how great that win was last night. It was long overdue, and now they have to find something new to talk about when it comes to Romo, Phillips, and the Cowboys.
But me....I think we're going into Minnesota and leaving with a win.
Thank you Cowboys, and thank you Cowboys fans. That was an amazing experience.
