Depends what you're looking for and what you're style is. Do you wear dress shirts to work? Tie? Do you have another more utilitarian coat already? Do you plan to do yard work in it? Ski? Hike? Etc.

I don't think it's possible to have a do it all coat, personally. I've got a pea coat and then a regular winter coat to go along with some lighter jackets.

You might want to look at Lands End, they have a bunch in different colors and sizes including big and tall.

I think im going to go with the Northface in the picture above unless I can find something canvas like thats not Carhart.

Catch, I can make a suggestion to you. Don't know if you'll like it or not but if you are looking for quality gear, stuff that really lasts, I'd look at Woolrich. I've worn Woolrich for over 20 years and it's built to last. Nice stuff and reasonable for what you get IMO. This is literally stuff you can bail hay with, hunt in, ride guide or just about any kind of physical work you can think of. I don't know that it's very metropolitan so you won't see a whole lot of Camel Hair stuff but I can vouch for the quality.

For example, if your looking for something that is not Cathartt but you want a Barn Coat type jacket that is lined, this might be what your looking for.

Here's a link to their site if you're interested.

I want a new coat and I'm not sure what to get.

Something for 200 or less.

It can be stylish too or something like a Northface down jacket.

I just want a good looking coat and I'm having trouble finding one.

Northface is no longer a good brand they have become utter crap they where bought out by Vantiyfare and there crap went down hill. If you likethe old Northface look at Mountain hardware after Northface sold out a group of former Northface employees started Mountain hardware.

Do you like down or do you prefer gortex type material ?

Docker's® New Zealand Leather Bomber Jacket $200

I really appreciate all the help guys.. Thanks.

As far as material and brands I really don't have a go to brand that I like.

Where I work we can dress casual because we don't work in just one area.

Somedays we do office work... Some days we work outside so it just depends.

I just want an everyday good looking jacket.

A canvas type jacket or a down jacket are my top 2 choices but I could see something else and switch in a second.

The Northface jacket is on backorder or I probably would've bought it.

If you are looking at down you want to try and get the best fill rating you can. The fill rating is how many feathers they have. The higher the fill the better quality feathers they use. It is the same for sleeping bags. The best ones hand down would be Feathered Friends but they can get pricey depending on which ones you get I think the lightweights start at $225

REI always has good ones but they can be over priced you can go to like Rock creek or travel country and get them cheaper

That is for Down. You other option is Gortex and it is expensive as well

Good luck

North Face Atlas.

It's $249, but it's versatile for cold, rain, etc.

Get a Patagonia down sweater...they look good, are light as a feather and are basically a more stylish Northface.

I bought one for this winter in NYC and I'm telling you, its amazing, and you'll anyone from Dads to hardcore outdoors people to street fashion people wearing it. And they have a policy if you are unhappy for any reason, they will set you up with something else...I had a friend return a coat after like 2 years just because he wanted a different look...

I have this one and i love it (and being from Texas I HATE the cold)

I recommend Eddie Bauer jackets. Get a shell for the outside and fleece liner for the inside. Wait for an after Christmas sale. If you can, wait until March and there are some really good bargains. I picked up a $350 shell for around $90 on a clearance rack. Awesome jacket.

Scoop a Tony Romo endorsed Starter jacket.

All the ladies will want you. Make sure you get a bag of Red Vines and wear your cap backwards.
