No worries we have 5 - 7th round picks in the next 2 years we can use on guards.

The way I look at that, the Cowboys can get their top UDFA target with those picks and not risk him signing somewhere else. They are valuable. You can find players. I'd almost guarantee they will find at least one with those 7th rounders.

Assuming the draft falls the Cowboys way next year, I think the order of the picks should be DL, OL, DL, S, DL, OL

Same way i look at it they do have good luck with later picks and udfa im kinda hoping that they can get 2 to pan out for depth.

2/5? Not unreasonable at all.

Yea kinda like a trade off for 2 guys at the bottom roster this year for 2 players that are young and have upside in the future. I really like these kind of moves just hope they can find at least one fa for o line and 1 for d line for this season that can help out.

Parnell is going to be ok at RT with a high upside, playing him is the right move, Free also is fine at G... Leary's injuries scare me too but having Berny as his back really isn't all that bad

Free: 0 starts at RG
Parnell: 2?3? starts at RT
Leary: 0 start at LG
are you confortable with this???
Smith is a "veteran"!
and Fred is a rookie!!!!!
I don't have a good feeling for this OL
The Giants DL will kill Romo!

It's a pretty good Offensive line, Top half of the league(top 16) with the upside being a top 10 easily or better because of the youth that will grow as the season goes on. Don't think Romo gets killed, I actually think Murray has a big day behind this oline and you can stop trolling on this site as a "cowboy fan", nice try though we beat the Giants fairly easily week 1.... 31-17, bring that back to the giants forum with you

Yeah I don't think most see that now we really have a young OL and they could improve. Same can't be said for the DL, but at least there is hope in Tyron, Leary, Fred, and Parnell....something we haven't had on the OL in ages. Interesting thing is I figure Free will be better at guard than he ever was at tackle by the end of the season, but people will still probably hate on him.

Smith is 23, Leary is 24, Fredrick is 22, Free is 29 and Parnell is 27 and everyone of them is relatively new to the position they are currently playing. That tells me none of them have reached their full potential. Right now it's a decent line. Way better than anything we have fielded in years. But honestly I think around week 8 this line has the potential to be a top 7 in the league. I don't know how people wouldn't agree that every week they are going to get better and better.
Talking about Free by all accounts he was playing well at RT all through OTAs,Mini Camp, Practice and in the Preseason. They said his technique and confidence was back full force. So I expect him to do a good job at RG. He struggled from time to time with speed rushers and I don't think he will see any speed rushers on the inside. He obviously has good enough feet to play guard because he's played Tackle. Like I said I expect him to be a good RG.

Remember this is the exact move that put Leonard Davis back to being a pro bowl player for 2 or 3 years and prolonged his career a bit. I'm not saying Free is as good as Leonard Davis but he is a little less of a player but not as much as most people would make it seem. I like this O-line especially if Leary can stay healthy all year. If that happens look out.

The Bernadeau Livings experiment is over. Even if Bernadeau starts this year, which so for it looks like he won't be, both of these players will be gone next year.
Bernadeau's contract runs through 2015. I'm not certain that he is gone next year. He could end up as the backup Center/Guard in 2014. His best game in 2012 might have been one of his starts at Center. If Costa is limited to Center only, that makes it difficult to have him active on game-day.

His salary jumps next year, and his total cap hit is like 3.5 million.

His 2014 base salary is 2.25M. The remainder of his cap hit is from money that has already been paid and will hit the cap with or without him on the team.
