Best officiated game Ive seen all season

Scott Green is one of the best refs in the league imo.

Glad he got the call today.

thats all

Yeah, we could have probably had another win or two if all 18 of our games had been called the way tonights game was.

If only the league would let teams play the did tonight....nobody can tell me there weren't plays where at least holding would have been called in a "normal" game, but there really weren't any opportunities for the refs to call pass interference anyway.

It was also a well-played game by both teams.

the Shanle "breakup" comes to mind early in the game

I guess my point is that there was nothing obvious in the PI department....we have all seen plays like that both called and not called...but I think they had their directions not to call anything but the obvious ones.

I think most of us can agree that no one will blame poor officiating for the outcome of today's game.

Now, given the officiating with a couple of the Steelers wins . . . . .

(I'm still pissed on that call on B Barnes)

I thought so too, but the two pointer would have been ruled an INC in the regular season. I didn't agree with that call.

We were talking about this all night. They just let the teams play. Damn it was refreshing. I loved it.

yeah I thought the two point attempt should have been called incomplete, you are supposed to maintain control through the catch which he obviously didn't do. I don't think possion for half a second is actually possesion. Other than that, I like that they let the teams play football. More games need to be called like this. Excellent crew!

Yea we were talking about it.

I'd be willing to bed Goodell talked to them and told the refs to stay out of the way and let the players play.

We were also discussing how terrible it would be for the game to go into overtime.

you're right I thought he didn't maintain control, although I'm happy with the outcome

I wonder if the Super Bowl reff's get any thing to commerate their partisapation? Lapel pin, medallion, tie clasp, ring?

One of the most blatant holding calls missed on a 3rd down when the Saints went up by 7. I like letting them play, but damn that was huge. They don't convert without the hold.

And whether that 2 point was complete or not, there wasn't enough to overturn the call on the field.

When you hardly notice the officials it's been a great game... I will say this though, how on God's green Earth did the line judge miss that two point conversion?

Hmm yeah I'm not sure you actually watched that play. He literally fell down with his butt and knees on the ground with the ball firmly in his hands. The defender came over and kicked the ball out AFTER he was down and the entire ball was over the plane. At what point can the ball carryer let go of the ball? Ten minutes later?

It was unquestionably the right call to overturn it and I have no idea how a thinking person can look at that play and not see that.
