Well, honestly, losing to Philly may be the best option, they control their own destiny and therefor they get the 2nd seed and a bye, we don't play them back to back and we head to the dying Minnesota Vikings.

Beating Philly means we play them back to back.

This is so wrong, I dont even know if it deserves a reply.

And no, if we beat Philly we dont definitely play them a week later. We could end up as the 2nd, 3rd or even 4th seed depending on what Minnesota and Arizona do.

What do you mean? Since Chicago beat Minnesota Philly controls their destiny.

I am scared of having to beat them back to back, yes, but with a week inbetween I am not.

You said beating Philly means we play them back to back, that is not true.

And "throwing" the game, as ou seem to suggest just so we could POTENTIALLY avoid another game with Philly is stupid. Teams have a much better winning % at home in the playoffs. There's a reason everybody wants HFA.

And didnt you already start another thread just like this one?

If that was the case then why are they not listed as the #2 seed right now? I could have swore all the talk was that Minnesota had to lose and Philly win on Sunday for Philly to get the #2.

For Dallas to get it they need the Vikings and Cards to lose and for them to beat Philly and then they'd get the #2 seed.

Philly has a better NFC record I believe, they control the 2nd seed right now, anyone who says otherwise is an idiot tbh.

You also claimed if we beat Philly we were locked into playing them back to back, which is not true.

Philly don't want it with Dallas now that Mr. Jenkins is roaming that backfield.

Well if that's the case, and I certainly didn't realise that, I'd still rather we beat them and play them back to back weeks. I'm not interested in watching Dallas lose the game just so they can avoid them for a week.

Dude, if Dallas beats Philly then Dallas could potentially get the second seed.

Giants beat Vikings.
Packers beat Cardinals.

Dallas is 2nd seed.

We control our own destiny too. If Dallas beats Philly, Dallas wins NFC East.

True, but do you really want to count on the Giants winning a game? I will be surprised if they don't throw the game for the better draft pick and to screw the Cowboys.

This is 100% accurate! Ive been looking at playoff possibilities for 3 weeks now and trust me, the above is correct.

Reading comprehension isnt a strong point for you apparently.

"potentially avoid" was meant if we WON the game. It isnt a GIVEN that if we win, we'd play Philly again the next week, which was one of my problems with your OP the whole time.

Also, just because we LOSE to them this week and avoid playing them next wek, doesnt mean we'd avod Philly altogether. We could still end up playing them somewhere in the playoffs. Would you feel good about playing Philly in Philly for the NFC Championship game?

Winning this game is the best option. If we have to play them three times, I'd much rather get two of them in our place rather than theirs, even if we have to play them back to back weeks.

Edit

If we beat Philly we would have 100% chance of avoiding any coldweather game in the playoffs. That is important to me.

We would host Philly, Green Bay and even the Cardinals (if Green Bay beat them) if any of those 3 teams won and we met them for the NFC Championship.

If we lose we ARE the 6th seed and have no chance for any home playoff games

This is a huge game for us this week!!

This is EXACTLY why anyone who has any delusion that losing on sunday is beneficial to Dallas, is entirely incorrect. A Dallas win on Sunday does 1 of many things. #1 It guaranteed at least 1 home playoff game. More importantly, it gives Dallas a legitimate shot at hosting the NFCC game.

The other MAJOR advantage to punching philly in the mouth on Sunday is it eliminates Philly from having the opportunity of the NFC running through Philly. If Philly wins on Sunday, you can MARK my words that the NFCC game WILL be held at the Linc. Why would anyone want to face Philly in Philly for the NFCC game when we can completely eliminate them in the 1st round in Dallas? This is not even taking into consideration the small percentages of Dallas obtaining the 2 seed in the NFC.

Forget losing, just win and let the things lie as it may. I don't care who we face in the playoffs, just keeping winning to maintain the momentum.
