Is the 21st spot assuming either Tampa or Washington go to the SB. As of now it looks as if it will be the 22nd pick cause neither will do that.

I don't know how to explain why to make it any more clear for those that are confused by the tie breaker but that's what it is.

I believe #22 is correct since they have a better record than two playoff clubs thus are seeded at a lower pick.

Right and considering both the playoff teams with lesser records are from the NFC the best we could do is 21st if one of them made it to the SB.

True. But if one of the 9-7 playoff teams goes to the SB, then they drop to the bottom and it'd bump Clevelands up to #21. But that is highly unlikely.

Playoff teams draft before non-playoff teams?

Bingo, it's confusing as all hell unless you pound it into your brain. It took me about 1 month and 500 examples several years ago to finally get it.:laugh2:

Had Tenn lost, Cleveland's pick would have been #24.

I'll take two additional spots.

They can if they have a worse record (as TB/WSH did).

With in their segment (record) unless your discussing the 2 SB teams who always have the 31st and 32nd selections.

#22 was not exactly what I was hoping for, but I will take it:D

Not a bad position, really. You're looking at 3-4 corners that sneak into the first round with none having a top ten grade. You also have a very good tier of RB's behind DMac in Mendenhall, Stewart, etc.

I think we'll be able to get a very good player at #22 and another later on.

yeah, it's about 17 spots up from where I was thinking about 5 months ago.:laugh2:

Also wouldn't be a bad spot for some borderline first round WRs like Bowman, Doucet, Kelly, etc.

So basically what you are saying is if the Bucs loose in the NFC Chmpionship they will still pick at 19 or 20? don't think so, although I am not sure.

since all of us are hoping that we get the #31 pick, there's no way for WAS or TB to get the #30, ergo, the get the #20 and #21 pick, with CLE getting #22.

Sorry but that's they way it works

Cleveland's will be 21st or 22nd and ours will be 30th or 31st. I hope we stay right there - we'll get a couple of good players.

So we gave them our '07 #22 and we got their '07 #36 and '08 #22. (If TB and Washington don't reach the Super Bowl)

BTW , the '07 #36 along with our '07 #87 & #159 were traded to Philadelphia for their '07 #26 which we use to pick Anthony Spencer.

Still looks like a good trade to me ..... :laugh2:

Anybody know how far we can trade up with #22 and #31, I would guess maybe 10-12 range based on points but I am not sure.

Looks like McFadden is going to require additional picks or players.
