Ok so how does Claiborne compare to milliner and the other prospects coming out this draft. Where would you rank Claiborne and who do you think will end up with the better rookie season?

Depends what you want out of a CB prospect..

Claiborne has far superior technique as well as ball skills and playmaking ability.. On the other hand Milliner is a superior athlete.. Bigger faster and stronger.. Milliner also plays the run much better and is a more physical player and better tackler.

Milliner ran a significantly better 40.

They ran comparable 3-cones.

Claiborne ran a significantly better shuttle.

I think Claiborne has a chance to thrive in a cover 2. Press bail all day.

Milliner had a better Vertical and Broad jump.. Not saying Claiborne isn't athletic.. But I give Milliner the advantage. Claiborne has much better feet and is much smoother..

It really depends what you want out of a corner.. I will say I think Claiborne has more potential because of his playmaking ability.. Milliners hands are very questionable.. If Claiborne can consistently create turnovers he will be better but With Milliners physicality and tackling prowess I think he can be better if Claiborne doesn't create turnovers.

Just curious as i havent seen milliner play but who do you think is the best pure cover corner? p.s. i think your post was spot on.

I think if both were in the draft this year, Mo would be rated 1 CB. Ball skills win out.

This.

In the last 3 years, PRE-DRAFT, it would be

Peterson
Claiborne
Milliner

I do wonder if they would have used such enormous assets on the postion last year--moved up for Mo Clai and/or spend 50 mil on Carr--if they had know how ridiculously deep the following year's draft would be at CB.
There will be 6-10 starting CBs come out of this class by year 2 in their careers.

In the end, Dallas does have two really good CBs though.

Hey guys thank you for your feedback but none of you have answered the second part! Who do you you predict will end up with the better rookie season

That usually depends on where a player goes.

Where you asking about Claiborne's rookie season vs Milliner's?

That's b/c its virtually impossible to predict.

yeah after its all said and done (granted there are many factors that can effect this) who do you believe would have the more successful rookie season knowing what you know about both players

An often overlooked but very valuable physical characteristic for DBs is arm length.

Claiborne has rare arm length for a CB.

Long arms are really helpful for reaching in for the ball without getting an interference call.

Claiborne would still be the #1 CB in this draft if he were coming out. This CB draft class would be very good if they were both coming out in the same class.

I'm not in love with Millner as a CB. I mean, he has the physical attributes you like to see but he's not a real smooth athlete and he doesn't really have exceptional cover skills. He does it with positioning and and he's a smart football player. He is hardly ever out of position but in the NFL, there are WRs who will force him into situations where he will be. He's not an exceptionally quick CB. He's pretty good but I don't think he's a Peterson.

I agree that if they were in the same class that Claiborne would probably be drafted a few sports before Milliner but that doesn't really answer the question here..

I think it's Claiborne as of right now just because I think he is smoother and has better technique in coverage
