No.

When your team performs well, it's the exception and not the rule.

NFCE basement dunce caps since realignment...

New York- 1
Dallas- 2
Philly- 3
WASHIGTON- 8

Not only do you have the most last places finishes, you have 2 more than the other three teams combined.

Thanks for doing the leg work I was too lazy to do here. :) it does paint a rosey picture.

Washington always gets up for dallas , and usually gives them a good game.
They knocked us out of the playoffs in 2012 in the win or go home game, they stopped our win streak of 6 games, in 2014,
not sure but that was the colt McCoy win?
Then the final game of 2013 where romo hurt his back and threw the winning td to murray.

So the rivalry is still there, and the Cowboys have had Romo and overall better teams, most of the time.
Commanders have been looking for a QB for many years, without much luck.

When your new coach comes in (Gibbs II) and tells the Commander fans that Dallas fans are ugly as soon as he's hired, and then every free agent that gets brought in to Washington says they learn real quickly that wining the Dallas games is the most important thing... and then half of the fans online say that they're ok going 2-14 as long as the two wins are vs. Dallas... well, it becomes clear really quickly how important playing Dallas is.

On the flip side, absolutely none of that happens on this side of the rivalry.

There is no doubt that Washington players have gotten up for the Dallas/Washington games more than the Cowboys players have.

Now, having said that... Washington is the reigning NFC East champs and Dallas will probably get up for this year's games. Particularly if the Division race looks like it is going to be between those two teams.

Don't forget the whole RomoSUCKS thing over at extreme skins board.

Not familiar? Any time you type in Romo, it "auto-corrects" to that.

Pathetic.

Something tells me though Norman is waiting more for the matchup with Odell than Dez. But it will be interesting to see how he manages Antonio before meeting both Dez and OBJ.

Probably true.

Norman is going to get whipped this year. He's not going to suck. But he's not going to have that same kind of success.

At CPND Commanders board, if you type Cowboys it corrects to COWS and Romo corrects to something else but it has been so long that I can't remember.

D-bag corrects to DallasBag too. I'm sure I'm forgetting some as well.

I'm not saying it hasn't been competitive. I'm saying one team (yours) gets amped up for a game the other team (mine) doesn't really care that much about... At least not any more than any other game.

Even the fans don't really care. Philly is a big deal. New York is a big deal. Washington is an after thought.
And you know this how? Unless you spend your days at the death star you don't know.
It's funny that for all the hype and nothing to show for it, your argument is, we haven't done anything, but at least we sucked less.. great argument.

Man, you guys should get pink slips for 'the_showstopper'. Nice job!

Yeah, great job. I say the records and accomplishments are similar as evidenced by the stats, and you guys move the goal posts and change it to last place finished. I never disputed that, my point was that for all the basement dwelling vs blue star hype, you guys have done nothing more for how "good" your team is.

And in fact, looking at 2014, your one ABOVE mediocre finish (8-8) came against the likes of the jags, rams, 9ers, saints, texans and bears.. Plus the usual nfc east suspects. Hardly an impressive lineup of teams.

Struck a nerve, huh? The OP was about the Norman vs. Dez matchup. Cowboys fans mention that Washington gets up for the Cowboys more than the other way around. You (on a Cowboys fan forum for some reason) start spouting statistics about how the teams are pretty even in recent history. Cowboys fans point to Washington's 8 last place finishes since 2002 as a rebuttal. How are the goal posts being moved exactly?

No one is suggesting this is an easy matchup for either team. What it comes down to is that the Cowboys last place finish last season was devastating for Cowboys fans because we're not used to it. 8 last place finishes since 2002 tells me Washington fans are used to it. Here's a suggestion, go back to that cesspool of a fan board for YOUR team if you want perceive the goal posts as remaining stationary.

Because I watch them every week, post on a Cowboys forum that features insider articles, listen to the local sports radio on my 80 minute round trip commute to work and hear player interviews...? Take your pick.

Don't have to be in the players jock strap to see the difference in their response to NY & PHI vs WSH.

I wasn't really arguing your last point. But yeah... We've been average while your team has been super below average.

While we ultimately have had similar success, your failures have been far greater and far more often.

The post you responded to was about your ownership of the NFCE basement. Nobody moved any goalposts on you. You just don't like the topic.

Neither of our teams have won as much as either of us would have liked in recent years here, that's definitely true.

Norman is a strong CB. But nothing should be drawn from last season's match up vs Carolina. Dez was clearly hobbled. Not to mention Carolina'state front 7 had Romo flustered.

Hopefully both guys are healthy and they go head to head 2x this season. Should be fun to watch.

I can't wait for the Norman match ups this year. Both Dez and OBJ. And I hope he owns OBJ.

I thought Beckham chewed him up. Could've finished with 150 yds and 2 TDs if he didn't completely breakdown mentally and emotionally. But that's clearly his major weakness as a player.

Imy not saying he won't be a good player but it will be interesting to see how Norman performs outside of that Carolina D where they are pretty comfortable recycling their CBs.

I saw all 22 from the game. Panthers got a lot of pressure on Romo even when Norman was one on one. They we shading guys underneath on Dez and doubled him in the red zone. I'm not worried about Dez asking as he had a healthy decent qb.

Just out of curiosity - were they blitzing or just beating us upfront?

The "Cowboys don't care/get up" for the Commanders is a cute little CZ argument that has made posters here feel better about the Cowboys overall lack of success since 1995

Subject at hand in this article: The Commanders secondary, considering its overall lack of talent, overachieved last year. I am looking forward to seeing what Perry Fewell does with Norman.

Dez has been so/so in his career vs the Commanders and D-Hall has been in his head since he was a rookie. Norman will just add to Dez's frustrations
