Beyonce-gate

I guess in her defense wasn't it like 11 degrees or something? Would imagine it would be hard to sing in that. She's hot so ill give her a pass.

While it's still up in the air whether she did or didn't, I can see exactly why she would.

Singing the SSB is difficult enough, but at that temperature, your vocal chords are not as loose as you want them to be, and it's very difficult to get a full breath when the air is that cold.

There is no band today that can compare to the Beatles. It was a children's song. Settle down before you get hurt.

It's not like she's never sung live before. Whitney could sing her butt off, but she lip-synched her famous SSB rendition.

Artists like Bey, Whitney, J-Hud, et al, just want to make sure there are no flubs when there are millions of people watching, not because they can't actually blow the roof off.

All I know is Ann Wilson sang the national anthem at the stadium this year.

I guess Charlotte told her most people pre record or lip synch to which Ann Wilson replied " Ann Wilson doesn't lip synch"

How can you not love that. And as usual she sounded spectacular.

Dude bagging on the Beatles revolver?

U need a musical education.

Personally, I assume all live singers are lip-syncing until proven otherwise. Even when they do not fully lip-sync, they use backtracking to supplement their singing, especially on the highs and lows. Between that and auto-tune, I am listening less and less to songs with singing in them these days except when it comes to singers and bands that you can tell never use those.

I don't think anyone in this thread is upset about it.

I never accused anyone in this thread of being upset, just commenting on the general idea that this will upset some people.

My wife and I said the same thing this morning. We all know what Beyonce can do.

Maybe in situations like this in the future, they should just say what the singer is doing ahead of time.

Lip synch or not, Beyonce is an awesome singer.
This doesn't bother me at all.

Does telling someone ahead of time change things?

This. Plus it was at the Inauguration of the POTUS (not trying to drag politics in here, Mods. :) ) She simply wanted the best sound possible for the event. I can respect that.

Meh... I dont care that much.

Its actually funny when music un-sync's and they are lipping to something that isnt heard. lmao

If it's the truth, .. yes.

Then nobody would get bent out of shape when they find out the next day.

Just say, .. she will be lip synching because it is too cold and she may hurt her voice.

Who cares, we all know Beyonce has great vocals. She has nothing to prove.

You still haven't addressed how that changes anything...

lol, children's song about barbiturate capsules.

but fine whatever how about this

"She's a brick house, she's mighty mighty
And just lettin' it all hang out and she's a brick house
And like lady's stacked and that's the fact
Ain't holding nothing back, she's a brick house
We're here together everybody knows
This is how the story goes
She knows she's got everything
That a woman needs to get a man
How can she lose with the sex she use
36-24-36, what a winning hand"
- Commodores - Brick House [1977]

It changes their reaction.

If people were aware that Beyonce was going to lip-synch before hand, they would not respond so surprised afterwards. Or be surprised at all.

People made a big deal out of it the day afterwards because it surprised them that she did.

I can't say it any simpler than that.

I hate when people have trouble comprehending.

Why are they surprised, and why would hearing about it before the fact make a difference in regards to their opinion of it?
