BF3 Premium

I did not see any mention of the latest attempt to drain my wallet...that being BF3's Premium service.

The ongoing civil war on the Battlelog forums, over premium, is as crazy a thing I have ever seen in a moderated forum.

Just wondering if anyone here stepped up to Premium?

I would have to be actually playing BF3 to purchase it. I haven't been, so that answer is a definite no.

Even if I were playing, I'm not sure I would do it. Not seeing the value. I get a dogtag that does absolutely nothing. I get faster unlocks when I've already mostly unlocked everything that I use. I get through a game queue faster, when I could just join a game without a queue? I can reset my stats? Why?

As far as I can tell, they want $50 for that? Umm. No thanks.

Not a BF3 player so not going to bother with this no matter what but i am kinda torn on the subject. It's really not that bad when you put it in context of 15$ COD map packs, but at the same time i don't like the way EA especially keep trying to charge you over and over again for a game you already bought

I did because I had every intention of buying all new map packs. The fact that they made it slightly cheaper and threw in some perks made it okay by me. It is a little pricey so I hope they throw in an extra map pack or 2--seems highly unlikely though.

I got it today.

I liked getting the map packs with it. There are 3 or 4 more map packs coming out between now and March that I'll get with it.

The added dogtags were neat but nothing needed.

My biggest draw for it was getting new guns to use. The Close Quarters content is going to give you new assignments that are going to allow you unlock 10 more guns.

In total I believe by the end of June you'll have the ability to unlock 12 more guns all together.

Some of the gun additions were the ACR, SCar-L, MP5 and I'm a big fan of all of those so that was a draw for me.

If I was going to get the map packs anyway, and I was, getting them all in one with this, and getting them 2 weeks earlier, was a draw.

And I sort of like the stat reset idea for people who were really bad at the game initially who can reset their stats, once they start playing better, for a more accurate depiction of their Score per minute and w/l ratio.

Also I guess for those who are super concerned about their K/D ratio that would be more accurate for them as well. I only care about improving my score per minute and W/L ratio.
