The Big 12 and ESPN are nearing an extension that will earn the conference — combined with its Fox TV contract — $2.5 billion over the next 13 years, according to industry sources. The ESPN extension would run through 2025 and sync up with Fox’s deal.

By network, the Big 12 stands to make $1.3 billion from ESPN and $1.2 billion from Fox over the life of the two deals. ESPN’s old contract with the Big 12 ran through 2016, but the two sides are close on a nine-year extension that will increase the conference’s average revenue from its current $150 million a year to nearly $200 million annually. Each Big 12 school will make roughly $5 million more a year in the new contract over the old deal....

but while allowing each team to maintain it's third tier rights.

rights tu makes 20 mil per year off of.

the big 12 deal is a sweetheart one for sure.

all that said, the tv deal likely hinges upon the other 2 teams being added. one of which is byu. the other was supposed to be louisville or cincy but tv guys may have altered that plan.

I see. I don't think that article is 100% accurate but I do see the info you are referencing.

Thank you.

Maybe I'm out of the loop, but what about the LHN? How does it affect this? Is it still separate or are they merging the contracts or still separate?

If they are still separate, then the Big 12 schools will make more than $20M due to being broadcasted on LHN too. I believe Texas Tech is getting $5M from LHN for a Nov game, plus two other Texas Tech non-conference games that will be broadcasted on LHN..

LHN is still a separate thing as far as I've heard, all I know is that they better do something about getting it to more tv sets.

honestly I wouldn't mind a small fee to get it, just give me the option dang it! I pay 5 bucks for redzone, I'd pay 3 or 4 bucks for LHN just based on the content that is on youtube
