The moose in the photo is an Alaska moose taken on September 5th. It was taken in the Kilbuck Mountains, which is 380 miles west of Anchorage, AK.The rack is approximately 75 inches wide, has about 36 countable points, and was unofficially scored by a person who is not an Official Measurer at around 264 points.

In the near future it'll be posted on the Boone and Crockett Club's web site on "Trophy Watch" where the official score will be announced once it is entered.

If he was not so fat...he might still be alive...remember kids watch what you eat.
:p

Dallas, did you shoot that or is a picture that you found off the net or something?

Nice bull... if any of you guys want to hook me up with a hunt in "Seward's Folly"... I'll be more than happy to stay at your place... :D

No Jimz. I didnt shoot this moose. A buddy of mine knows the guy and forwarded me the pic. I just thought folks would like to see just how big these things get.

I checked Boon and Crocket on this. Eric does indeed have it up on their website. This is what B&C is saying.

Yes, this gigantic bull moose IS as big as he looks. Eric Arnette was fortunate enough to bag this bull on Sept. 5th in the Kilbuck Mountains (400 miles west of Anchorage). First reports on this monster are that he is 75 inches wide, has 36 scoreable points, and could challenge the World's Record at more than 260 B&C! We'll make sure and keep you posted. Stay tuned!

Eric is one of the newest B&C Lifetime Associates (#308). Congratulations, Eric, on such a fine trophy!

A little info on the current world record moose. Remember they have unofficialy measured the above moose greatest spread at 75 inches. Notice how much smaller the one (Current World Record) below is.

As I said... VERY nice bull...

We will have to wait for the drying out period (60 days) and a competent B&C judge...

Personally I would have been ecstatic taking this trophy...

Congratulations , you have proved that you are smarter than a moose. You must really feel proud. I mean it takes a real man to grab a gun and go out and shoot a defenseless animal for sport. Hunters make me sick. They are scum.

Great introduction post.

At that pace you should manage to get banned by Thanksgiving day.

By the way Dale Carnegie's book How To Win Friends And Influence People should be on your Christmas list.

Because there is really no defense for it...unless you need to hunt for food its really pointless...its not like this was for food or for population control...this was for pure sport....a trophy...and that is just wrong.

This is the guy that has been using multiple IDs of late on the Political forum to try and troll and flame.

However it is NOT Coach for those wondering.
