He shouldn't have played at all that game. Game was meaningless for steelers and he already threw a pick in the endzone. If he doesn't come back this year after this you have to question Tomlins approach.

Omar needs to reevaluate his coaching decisions for today.

At what point do you do something differently to keep your QB from getting blasted 10x a game??

Nah. What's there to second-guess? Everybody knows the risk in playing starters in the last game. You roll the dice, hoping consistency is more valuable than the risk of injuries. If you come up snake-eyes, that doesn't mean the risk was a bad one.

Personally, if I'm a HC, there are very few situations where I'd rest my starters other than once a given game is very much in hand. I think the damage you can do to team continuity and momentum is much greater than the risk of injury. And you don't want to introduce the idea of playing scared.

Doesn't really matter, Leftwich is looking pretty good so far.

And to think... we could have brought him in as a backup.

Brad Johnson or Byron Leftwich? Brooks Bollinger or Byron Leftwich? Hmmmm... HMMMMMMMM!

you think ben is better than lefty? are you serious? give pitt a decent qb and they probably become one of the best teams of all time. he has held that team back every single year, including the superbowl year.

Yet true.

Big Ben has struggled this year, and Leftwich has played pretty good.

80 QB rating compared to a 117 QB rating. QB rating doesn't tell the whole story, but a 27 point difference does say something.

Its true. Say what you want about Ben... but THAT team plays for him. He doesnt flat out lose the game for them. He keeps them in and gives them a chance. We cant always say the same about Romo.

Thats is crazy. They are ALL bad. Lefty was cut for a reason. He cant get it done.

Ben is better than lefty. If for nothing else "game management" and "smarter decisions".

Yes if Pitt had a better QB they could be a little better... I dont think it would be night and day better and who knows how they team responds to someone else.

Anyone is going to struggle playing behind one of the worst pass blocking OL's in the league. Ben is fairly elusive QB and has been sacked beyond words this year.

Ben sack rate 9%, leftwhich sack rate 12%. Not even mentioning his statline against the mighty cleveland browns...

4/9 for 39 yards...

what is this his second time playing this year in the middle of a game? he actually improved the team beating the skins.

If he isn't, I would be. Head and shoulders better. And I like Leftwich.
