That was before the Pats steamrolled them in the playoffs with a bunch of 3rd string guys. He might be singing a different tune today.

The Pats are clearly better than us, that doesn't mean we have a bad team.

They lost Bell, not convinced they lose that game with a healthy Bell.

The pats do things better than us... they are not a better unit.

Tom Brady gets a lot of credit (deservedly so) for the Patriots' success over the years, but the biggest difference between Dallas and New England over the years since Romo has been here (and now Dak) is defense.

This year, the Pats have the No. 1 scoring defense. In 2014, the Patriots allowed just 1.7 points per drive (sixth-best). In 2007, they were fourth overall in total defense.

Only in 2011 did the Pats have an average defense, and it was still better than ours.

Until our defense becomes good enough to complement our offense, we should not be mentioned in the same breath as New England.

The biggest difference is the coach. If the Emperor were our coach, the defense, and the team as a whole, would amazingly become a lot better overnight.

Unfortunately, there's not a team that really compares with NE's coaching, including ours. Their overall talent is pretty special as well.

Their talent is not that far away from the other elite teams, even including Brady. The key is that the coaching staff knows how to get exactly the most out of the strengths of their players and hide their weaknesses.

Once Dallas' defense gets the much-needed talent to thwart the passing games of the league's elite QBs, we'll be on the way to bigger and better things in terms of post-season glory. A few additions here and there on that unit could spark some exciting changes for sure. It's amazing how much talent can make an otherwise average coaching staff seem exceptional. Hopefully, we'll see that materialize in 2017 and beyond.

Yep. We're not too far away at all. This is going to be a fun draft to watch. Defensive players left & right.

I'm anticipating mostly defensive help but according to McClay, he won't be hesitant to take offensive help if the talent level demands it. I'm not too comfortable about our backup QB situation at all but other needs will likely dwarf our consideration of attention there. I'd take Moore over Sanchez to serve as our backup if no pick is forthcoming there. I think WR will be addressed at some point, possibly from the fourth round on, though.

Of course, the pass rush and secondary will loom large and rightfully take priority as far as our needs are concerned, although BPA will certainly be seriously considered, according to McClay. I wouldn't be surprised if RT and TE are to be alternative considerations for the offense if our defensive targets aren't up to snuff, either. As always, it'll be an interesting draft -- hopefully a very helpful and exciting one as well.
