I looked at the early list of expected incoming backers, there are a lot of so called big linebackers this year, where last year it was more of those undersized weakside ones.

We have so many issues. There are two, maybe three running quarterbacks next year that we have to deal with in division so the Cowboys need to be beef up the run defense. This is gonna be along process to get great again without luck and free agency. We literally have real 5 players on our roster with a bunch of JAGS. Houston we gotta problem.

It starts with obtaining a top pick each round, then changing the way they run the team. Easier said then done, but being a non playoff team and outside of the discussion, will force them to make some changes.

It doesn't. All teams are multiple, and majority of defensive downs are Nickel personnel.

The more multiple or versatile you are the better. Micah should be all over the place and then on the Edge on 3rd and long. Overshown can do what Jayron Kearse was successful at 2 years ago. Will Backer slash Big Safety.

The problem, as I see it, is the defense is several players away.

The Safeties fell off a cliff this year. The DTs are bad. Jerry's offseason of arrogance and Stephen's decade of ineptness killed the depth.

I agree, today's game is about being multiple. However, you need the right players to be able to play multiple schemes. This defense was built on Marinelli's quickness to get to the QB. Our front over the last 10 years has been undersized and wares down against the physical teams.

The last time we truly had a legitimate defense was under Wade Phillips. They were a far more balanced unit.
