Recap: Big Mike PC 11/5 - Player Updates & Gameplan

A true All-American
True story. I’m on a flight from DFW to Atlanta shortly after The Dodger retired. I’m sitting in an aisle seat near the front of coach. Boarding was still in progress and Roger comes by and sits in the same seat as me, only 2 rows back. The stewardess (they weren’t yet flight attendants at that time) and tells him there’s room in First Class and offers to move him up. He politely declines saying that he didn’t deserve it anymore than anyone else. Imagine a player doing that today. I’m sure there other were players then that would do it. Roger was and is a true hero and the epitome of class.

If you want to do something for vets, double the funding for the VA. Triple it. Who cares about another monument to war heroes?

I served in both Operation Just Cause in Panama. And in Desert Shield / Desert Storm in the liberation of Kuwait. People tell me to this day in certain situations, thank you for your service.

I don't care about any of their thanks. I care about taking care of our soldiers coming home from the endless wars we sent them to with their lives destroyed. Instead. We lay on them burden after burden telling them they have to prove beyond all reasonable doubt their condition is service related.

It's sick.

And this is why I've never been a fan of mixing sports with anything else. People that have never served, and I mean served in a combat capacity where it is kill or be killed, will never know just how horrible and soul crushing it really is.

It's not up to me, however. But I won't participate in their little soiree.

Good plan, Broncos secondary is much better than Vikes secondary.

2nd best in NFL.

But they're still gonna get gashed on the ground.

Cool. If Gallup is back this week and Lamb/Cooper are active like it appears they will be, that secondary is going to be chasing ghosts all day. Oughta be a fun game to watch.

PLAYER UPDATES:

-- CeeDee getting better.
-- Dak looking good. Progressing well.
-- Justin Hamilton. Done great job. Performs when he gets opportunity.
-- Offensive Tackles look good so far. Smooth. Steele's progress doesn't surprise me. High character.
-- Not easy to develop OTs with current offseason restrictions. More props for Steele.
-- Hardest part for Steele will be the lack of experience. Some OTs keep personal books on their opponents.

GAMEPLAN:

-- Regarding ankle comment yesterday. We're not game planning for Dak's injury. Trust the "return to play" process.
-- Micah and Dan Quinn have many 1-on-1 meetings to improve.
-- Trying to give them reps that relate to the game that week.
-- Saturday morning. Rookie meetings mandatory.

Roger Staubach walked in middle of PC. You could see Mike McCarthy was star struck.:cool:

McCarthy said the GB history was always present too. He fully embraces any former players coming around.

This going to be a way cool game...however, sometimes with our Cowboys...crap just happens!

Those guys coming from Denver all high on way good herb...they might come down and steal this game.

Never put the horse in back of the cart...and never wag the tail of a burning dog. TX And DE are in the same side of the USA...not way up there in NY.

It's not going to be easy if my history is right when Denver comes on down...
