Big News From Mars? Rover Scientists Mum For Now

I see the logic of my statement exceeded your understanding so I will explain in more detail.

If I claim today, "The Cowboys won the Super Bowl!" it is not big news as it has not happened. If in 20 years, the Cowboys win a Super Bowl, I cannot come back and say, "See? I told you so!"

Never did I doubt there was news forthcoming of some kind. My statement was to yet again rail against news releases about "big news" when there is no big news as that time. Sure, there may be big news in the future, a month from now or maybe even tomorrow. But making an announcement of "big news" without any details whatsoever is nothing more than hyperbole.

I knew exactly what you where saying. (without pictures, it didn't happen)

Obviously, the reasoning in my quoted post (poking fun) was lost on you! ;) :p: :D

I thought they had found a piece of plastic off the rover itself. I didn't read the entire thread which is a no-no so maybe I'm not getting something.

Experts have already said that the rover has not found anything more different as far as chemical is concerned than other rovers sent to Mars.

Most current and ex NASA scientist believe it is more FLUFF than any actual new discovery. A lot of them are turned off about how its being panned as some huge thing.

Skeptical you might say and I tend to believe that.

Hey, you have to try to make it mean something. Why not scream giant news, but we won't tell you about it, from the highest building?

If there are bio fuels on Mars, I think that would be a very big deal.

That's what I'm thinking as well. Maybe I'm missing something but I'm not sure why it's being downplayed now.

You will see a full fledged space race if that is the case.
