He has effectively sealed 3 victories this year with late game INTs:

Rams
Eagles
Skins

Plus a blocked punt vs Chicago that lead to our first score.

Very true but admit it drives me crazy when he vanishes. The guy in my view is a very good and athletic player and if he could show up more often he could become a pro bowl caliber player.

Wasn't it he and Heath of all people on the 4th down stop yesterday when they tackled the guy right at the first down marker?

Carter routinely takes bad angles. Is easily blocked. And always seems a step slow against the run. Durant is the better player right now. Also probably the cheaper player.

He might be Witten's replacement.... I'm playing but JJ Watt is not the only one who can catch..

I dont' think his play yesterday really changed anything.

He's still pretty weak at the point of attack and while he always flashes b/c of his athleticism, he still leaves a lot to be desired in terms of focus and intensity.

Not to split hairs here...but both INTs were kind of Johnny on the Spot type plays. RGIII never should have thrown that ball, though it was a good catch, and OScan made the real play on the second one.

Ya gotta give Brucie Carter credit here of late -- he's been pretty inconsistent at times but he's definitely making great plays when it counts nowadays. If he keeps up his current pace during the playoffs, he just might find himself being rewarded in the offseason with a contract renewal. Again, that's IF he keeps it up, that is.

I agree but also kept thinking - where has this been all year?

He leads our team in interceptions lol. The guy has done it all year. He's not as consistent as we expect him to be because of the flashes he showed about a year or two ago in the 3-4. But the guy has a nack for INT's.

I'm pretty sure he was always going to get a contract renewal. Now if its with the Cowboys I don't know.

I don't think there's any question his future might be somewhat murky at this point. We'll see in the offseason.

Yeah even prior to yesterday I was for bringing him back. I think you can't go wrong with having a solid rotation of linebackers. It proved this year to help us tremendously especially with that Hitchens pick. But I think Carter might've played himself into a pretty nice contract factoring his age and ending the season 4th in the league in int's.

True. He could have had 3 picks.

This too. I think he's better suited in a 3-4 but, he's certainly a solid ball player. I do believe Durant is the better player in this scheme though. I'd love to keep them both to be honest.
