With R. Broyles and T.Lewis both announcing they will return next year. The Sooners are loaded to make a legit run for the NC in 2011.

The Big12 title has a very real chance sitting right where it is. :D

Can't wait..............

Broyles has a very real chance to accomplish all of those things, including a better-than-advertised shot at rewriting the record books. As pointed out by The Oklahoman, Broyles sits just 50 receptions shy of breaking the NCAA all-time mark held by Purdue's Taylor Stubblefield, and needs 1,576 more yards to set the record for career receiving yards.

The wide receiver spot opposite Broyles also is open after Cameron Kenney's departure, but it will be easily filled by another rising sophomore, Kenny Stills, who set Sooner freshman records for receptions (61) and yards (786). The receiving corps will also gain one of the country's elite high school players in Whitehouse (Texas) star Trey Metoyer.

OU returns eight starters on defense as well, after star linebacker Travis Lewis announced Wednesday that he, too, will be returning to Norman. Of course, two of the team's losses are a pair of All Americans in defensive end Jeremy Beal and strong safety Quinton Carter, but Stoops has done a good job stockpiling young depth including end Ronnell Lewis and safety Tony Jefferson, who has drawn comparisons to Sooner great Roy Williams.

With major questions surrounding Texas, Nebraska in the Big Ten, and key players such as Missouri's Blaine Gabbert and in all likelihood Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon defecting to the NFL, the Big 12 should be a cakewalk for the loaded Sooners.

Now, with Broyles back in the fold, it's time for Oklahoma to take a run at their first national title since 2000.

He had 131 catches and 1622 this year. He certainly has a shot at the yards.

Oklahoma has lost their shots at the NC because of their D. It all comes down to that.

Boomer Sooner!

The team should be stacked going into next year.

I don't think it'll be easy to replace Murray... I know there's talent waiting in the wings, but that's easier said than done to just plug in a highly touted guy and get the same reliability.

I'm also concerned about the kicking game. I've had little confidence in Stevens. It'd be nice to get some consistency there.

Landry's poised for a huge year, though, and the schedule doesn't seem overly tough.

pretty fitting with OU and paid players you'd put pro in your title.:D

OU should be #1 or #2 with Oregon to start the season. Barring injuries if OU doesn't win the Big 12 if would be one of the worst coaching jobs of all time.

good morning Dallas

I think Roy Finch was outstanding before he got hurt and the studs at RB behind him just need more playing time. I think Oklahoma is stacked at RB and one of the few positions I am worrying about on this team.

Im not even to worried about replacing Quinton Carter. I was never a big fan of his to begin with. He just seemed out of position more often than in.

We'll see what the offseason brings. :D

Morning jimmy and DW and ABQ who I know read this but didn't fix my title and let jimmy poke fun@me. :(

Morning Dallas. Sorry about the Title fix. I just figured it was some kinda Okie Code for "Send the money to his Momma and Get the Car washed and waxed for him to pick up this afternoon!"

You know, like they used to do in the 40s during the War. "The Chair is in the corner" didn't mean anything unless you said it on the 12th day of the month. Then it ment send in the troops!

:D

BTW, FIFY

Don't sleep on the Aggies, they are returning most of their offensive starters. The defense is losing three key guys, but who cares about defense in the Big 12(-2)? The game will be in Norman so I expect us to get blown out, but I was expecting to be blown out this year too.

With Stills working the other side. I think Landry and Broyles are going to have a HUGE year.

1600+ again? We'll just have to see. :D

At this point I'm just about ready to support any team that isn't from the SEC. When you are talking about national championships, they are becoming hoarders. :laugh2:
