You forgot the kicker. :laugh2:

LOL...Go for it Bigs

There a bunch of guys there could possibly make the roster, but that is probably way too many picks unless we were going to axe 1/3 of the team.

Spears might not be back, Hatcher wont be back, and we dont know much about Lissemore and Brent. Igor should only be here one more year. So the two DL I chose were solid selections. Ellis allows Ratliff to split time at DE. Heyward, Ellis, Ratliff would be a scary combination.

As for OL...We need a starting RT, so we get Carimi. There is no guarantee that Colombo, Kosier, and Bigg will return. If they do, our backups are not all that great. So we get Rackley who we are high on, Fusco who we are high on, and a late round prospect who dominated his college division and can play both T positions.

Our Secondary was horrible last year. Newman may not be back, Jenkins had a pitiful year and our Safeties were more like Softies. Ball won't be back. Sensabaugh might not be back. There is no guarantee we will be able to sign Huff. Moore and Sash can come in and start right away if need be. LeGree makes a great nickel and dime ballhawk.

I am not sold on Spencer and Brandon Williams. Eddie Jones is a quality late round prospect who can not only put pressure on the QB and in the backfield, but can also play decent pass coverage.

Brookings is old and Bradie James is getting there. I love what Sean Lee brings to the table. He needs a running mate in the middle. The Cowboys are high on Homan. I think he turns out to be much better than the other tOSU LB we drafted a few years ago...that sorry first round flameout.

Everyone complained about Gronkowski last season....well we bring in some competition, with Hynoski. May the best man win. BTW, Hynoski blocks like a FB, but runs like a HB.

We need a 5th WR. Austin, Roy, Dez, and Hurd is all we have right now. I do not trust any of the others on the roster or practice squad. Toliver gives us a tall, long, athletic option. He has nice hops and great hands. He won't blow you away with his speed, but he is definitely another excellent option in the red zone. Also, if we do cut Roy after this season, Toliver steps right in a the 3rd WR.

I do not see Barber being here next season. Devine gives us a fleet back who can do it all. He is also a great option as a KR/PR saving our starters from ST injuries.

my drafts are always excessive....i love the idea of moving around and trying to add quality and quantity. i am of the firm belief that you cannot have too many draft picks. what is the difference with drafting 15 and signing 6-8 UDFAs and drafting 8 and signing 12-15 UDFAs...at the end of the day you still have a 20-25 new players to bring to camp...makes for better competition. Also, with the several young players we already have on the roster, adding this many players makes them realize that if they do not work hard, they could get released and a rookie takes the spot.

I just wish the league would allow teams to bring 100 players to camp instead of 81. Most teams know the top 35-40 players that will remain on a yearly basis, but the last 13-18 players are iffy....and the more competition the better the end of the roster.

I wish discussions on this site went more like this one has.

"And that's why supply-side theory undermines America's hegemony. Also, Rahim Moore at #40? His talent is mid-3rd. He's just lucked into a bad safety year. Like Gabbert at QB."

I think Rahim Moore is overrated and comes from a bad defensive school.....that being said he seems to be the popular choice....had I put Aaron Williams, I would have gotten ripped for being a Texas homer. I was really in a lose lose situation there.

I love it....and with Dallas possibly having limited room under the cap. it would make a ton of financial sense. Many of these guys have been talked about at some point to the Cowboys. Heck, if we could come away with the top 5 I wouldn't care what happened the rest of the way.

I like the draft Biggems. 15 is a lot, but it would certainly create competition, and light a fire under some guys. But as stated by another poster, its not the ideal off season for bringing in 15 rookies.

I share your philosophy, as my sig shows, but I think the Patriots would expect pick #110 for the first trade.
Also, the chargers would get taken in the trade you proposed, and if the Patriots did what I'd expect from the draft chart, Dallas would never have pick #110 to trade with Atlanta.

All that being said, I like your picks, and think they would give Dallas an excellent chance of coming away with multiple starters, with the chance few that potentially could make the pro bowl.

Since one of my observations got washed away in a previous post that also involved our verboten sidetrack, I'll restate. This is probably not the year to shotgun draft. A lot of players can be nice, but in a year with limited projected offseason work (in an optimistic scenario) and a new defensive installation yet to undertake, additional time teaching rookies how to be pros isn't on hand. Better to draft a handful of guys you feel good about or trade picks for next year.

Pats get the best end of trades when draft is concerned.

If Bcheat calls don't answer.

I think this is the reason to stockpile high picks... Also, I think your point supports the theory that teams should stay away from guys with a poor work ethic, or a guys who continually have run-ins with the law.

Which is reasonable. Also shows my hypocrisy in wanting Ellis. If I didn't compromise integrity from time to time I wouldn't be human. In general, and maybe especially for this year, tread lightly around the character questions. Good call.
