First off, we got the win, so no matter how ugly or pretty, it all counts the same.

It kills me that Romo got hurt. I think I would have rather had a loss if it meant Romo coming out of the game healthy.

Our defense was outstanding today, as was our ST defense, aside from Heath having his toe on the line when downing the punt. We did have a few penalties that we need to shore up, but aside from that, it was an A+ effort.

Our ST offense, needs work. Beasley looks awkward returning punts. Also, our gunners need to do a better job of not running into the path of our returner.

Our OL, which is supposed to be a strength, had a very poor game. There were way too many penalties from this unit today. Not only that, they let Romo get hit a few too many times, including the play that got him injured. Now, I will say the run blocking did improve over what we saw last week.

I know there were some issues with the officiating, but for me, only to calls bothered me. One, the Escobar TD that was taken away. I saw all the replays and the ball looked to cross the goal line. I feel they robbed us on that one. BTW, I am upset with Escobar for diving to the line instead of running hard and bracing to be hit by the LB while trying to score. Second, the personal foul on Bailey. I feel Murray initiated it by taunting Bailey in his face, then after Bailey grabbed his arm, Murray threw the ball right at Bailey, and all this happened in front of the official. IMO, Murray should have been flagged for taunting. BTW, I am ok with the Bailey flag. I feel it should have been offsetting penalties.

On the Lee INT, just before the play, I looked at my fiancé and said we desperately need a turnover right here. Presto, Bradford obliges.

I see that Witten accrued 3 separate injuries during the game, but kept on playing. He is one of the toughest players I have ever seen. He could have definitely played in the throwback eras.

I wonder if Kellen Moore will now be called up to the main roster.

So it wasn't pretty, it wasn't without cost, but it was a win......and it was against a division rival....

Dallas 2-0, 2-0, 2-0
Wash 1-1, 0-0, 1-0
NYG 0-2, 0-1, 0-2
Philly 0-2, 0-1, 0-2

Now we get the Falcons. Both of us have each won ugly games against the Giants and Eagles.....only difference, we lost our #1 WR, our starting LG, our starting DE, and now our franchise QB. Hopefully the OL can get it together, our D can continue to play strong, and Weeden can play as a starter the way he has played in both games after coming in for an injured Romo.

Bradford threw it right to Lee, but you have to give him MAJOR kudos for recognizing that the ball landed into his gut, without knowing what was going on and within a split of a split of a second- caught it.

Lee is a true game changer. He does it almost every game he plays and finishes.
By GUM I pray for his health... especially for the next 6-8 weeks.

I hope that the plays called aren't afraid of letting Weeden challenge things a bit.

I know that the running game needs to become more dominant. The defense needs to continue improving as well...but Atlanta will be a challenge.

The team needs to stay away from both penalties and turn overs, and demand that the Facons actually win the game.

Honestly- the running game did it's job:
It affected the defensive playcalling just enough.
That's all a team needs to win and guess what? The team won.

I'm talking about them being good enough to limit Weeden to under 30 throws a game. Here on out, Romo won't account for over a half of the team's effort.

At least until the 8 weeks are up...

I don't expect Weeden to be limited to under 30 throws a game because we are decimated on offense- we will be fighting from behind in some games. I still have faith, as tenuous as that is...
This OL is pretty darn good, but it's not truly Elite yet. We saw that this very game.
Get Leary back... I hope we do. Then the (confusion) penalties hopefully go down and the line gets back into sync.

I don't see the team approach him to date, to this point, as much more than a bus driver. I did like his crispness of passes, and want to see him allowed to challenge a few game transition points, in the future.

He did well. I hope he can continue to do so until our Captain comes back and then we roll with a (hopefully) full strength team.
Do what the Giants have done. We actually are in a position to do it.

I think that this team will grow with a lesser quarterback, and that well may mature some of the younger players as well.

Yeah I was pretty disappointed with Murray on the taunting/Dan Bailey play. Really Murray? You got held to 2 whole yards for the game and at that point in the game I believe he had negative rushing yards. He has one good play and finishes it by pushing the opposing team's kicker in the chest. Whoa, tough guy. I don't know, I just thought he was better than that, sportsmanship wise. But I guess if you're on pace for an 88 yard season you got a right to run your mouth until a defense shuts it. Look out NFL, Demarco is rolling and he's going to make sure your kicker knows it. Boom

When I saw the flag thrown, I thought the penalty had to be against Murray. As if the incident didn't occur at the Dallas bench...and a kicker?
