I feel we may end up in the low teens this year. With that, we trade down in the 1st, adding a 3rd and 5th.
We also acquire another 3rd with a move down in the 2nd.

1 - DE Jonathan Allen - Alabama 6'3, 292
(this one is a huge pipe dream, as I am hoping he falls to the later part of the first)
2 - DE Sam Hubbard - tOSU 6'4, 265
3 - FS David Jones - Richmond 6'2, 210
3 - WR Cooper Kupp - Eastern Washington 6'2, 215
3 - OLB Jaylen Reeves-Maybin - Tennessee 6'0, 225
4 - ILB Kendell Beckwith - LSU 6'2, 252
5 - OT Julie'n Davenport - Bucknell 6'6, 315
6 - CB Jeremy Cutrer - Middle Tennessee 6'1, 170
7 - ILB Nick Deluca - NDSU 6'3, 245

Unless you are drafting to replace T Crawford at 3 tech, i don't think Jonathan Allen is for our defense.

Biggs did you mean Tim Williams from bama?
No.

BTW, this is just a very early mock. I am sure come the spring, the only name that will remain on that list is Kupp. He is my favorite player in the upcoming draft. I also love Christian McCaffrey, but I know we won't look at RB in round 1 again. Too bad, cause he would help us in so many ways. However, I know we really need DL help in the worst way, along with S, RT, and WR depth.

I got you it is always a struggle this early in the year to get something that is still relevant in December much less next March.

I see what you are saying though......I have him at DE, but a lot of sites have him at DT

For the NFL, Allen would fit very well as a speedy three-technique defensive tackle. He is very fast at firing his gap, and his speed poses a real mismatch against guards. Allen has a quick first-step, and uses that agility to transition to power. He rushes with good pad level and leverage, so he can get into a guard's chest and toss them to the side to break free on the quarterback. Allen's upper body strength to shed blocks is very impressive, especially for a sub 300-pound defensive lineman.

yup yup. Would love him as our 3 tech but doubt we are willing to take one after giving crawford extension and drafting Collins in the 3rd. OP has down as a DE for us. He aint a 4-3 DE

That Allen interception today will serve him well come draft time especially being able to run full throttle to the TD.

I 'd say so

Actually, unlike the previous stud DL from 'Bama, Allen could play LDE in a 4-3 with ease. He's a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT player from the A'Shawn Robinson/DeForest Buckner 3-4 DE's. He has very good initial quickness and an array of pass-rush moves. They've made him bulk up to the 290 he's at now. I could EASILY see this kid drop 10-15 lbs. and be a SDE on run downs, then slide inside to the 3T on passing downs.

We have a left end. We need a right end with explosive speed. This draft is deep with edge rushers. Would be such a disappointment if we don't have one by end of day 2.
