Bigger problem than the defense

The thing that legit annoyed me with Schotty against Tampa bay. Ceedee coming off a 17 catch game…. Instead of getting him the ball some. It seems like we forced the ball to Pickens just to do it.

Not saying the defense wasn’t trying to roll coverage toward ceedee… but it’s almost like Schotty tried to get too cute. Tried to be the smartest guy in the room.

At least Campo was a respected defensive coach. Plus those teams were lousy. Shottenheimer has been a Nepo hire his whole career.

I would argue that Dallas has better over all talent than any offensive team in the NFL. How many teams have two all pros on the Oline with maybe a 3rd one on the way? Steele is probably the weakest link and he's really not all that bad either. Dak can play better at times and we have better tight ends if Schotty would play them or give them a chance. We also have the fullback Schotty hasn't found a way to use.

Are you being serious? We don’t have anywhere near a top oline. And Steele isn’t that bad? Are you confusing him with someone else? We don’t have very good TEs. We don’t have anywhere near a top running game. The only thing we got is our two WRs.

IMHO the biggest problem even before we talk defense is Schotty. Even as bad as the defense has been - we still could of won at least two more games if he had coached better. I mean what does Schotty bring to the team? Don't tell me play calling. I can coach the Dallas offense and let Dak call the plays and still have a top 8 offense.What coach that Dak has played for in Dallas hasn't had a great offense when Dak stays healthy??

Schotty IMO is actually holding the offense back. He's so conservative in his play calling. So vanilla and predictable. Let Andy Reid or McVay or even Kellen Moore have this same team and you'd easily see over 40 point's every game. So until Schotty actually looks in the mirror and see the problem starts with him this is the results we're going to get this season. IMHO I think the team reflects the coach. And the reflection I see is a soft, undisciplined team.Waiting on checks come Tuesday vs weekend or Thursday NFL games. Maybe more basketball free throw contest could work?? Who knows I just don't see anything on the field Schotty bring to the table. Prove me wrong if you can...And I had hoped Schotty was the guy. But as of now I think he's one of the worst HC hires Jerry has ever made.

Im beginning to agree with this OP. Lack of courage calling plays. Only a few teams have good leadership but we're one of the teams who are lacking head coach leadership

While I agree the line isn't producing like expected. We have good offensive line talent. Guyton has been very good this year. Steele is allowing 7% pressure rate. The interior needs better play but their not chop liver

Why not? Dak has had decent protection all season.

No matter how good your OL, QBs are going to get pressured and hit sometimes.

Overall they haven’t been bad but nothing special either. But my comment was about Steele. He is still bleating pushed into Dak way too often and gets beat regularly. That is when is isn’t getting help.

My original post was about a poster saying we have the most offensive talent in the league. That is not even remotely true.

This isn’t about Dak. But he hasn’t had the best protection. My assessment of Steele is that he’s been horrible, regardless of the wannabe pressure rate stated

Shottys game plan sucks, especially early. Seems like he gets going in the second half. Maybe he's too busy trying to quote" establish the run early or be a little conservative early or something but it seems like they always come out flat and it takes them a good half to really get going. And then in the second half it's like he's made some changes and figured out or has a new new place sheet or something because that's when they come out and start scoring like crazy.
