It would have been nice if they started this thinking before/during the Green Bay playoff game!
They should've pounded the GB defense into mercy by running Zeke at them over and over. If they had taken that approach, Green Bay would've been done by Halftime.

Yep, and there is a perfect example of a coaching blunder. leaving the RB pass catching and some 3rd down duties to an injury prone, small back like Dunbar instead of giving it the much better Zeke.

Now I can't tell you who made that decision and whether it was Garrett or Linehan. Whoever it was, it was a dumb decision. One that no one should ever make.

I was saying when the Cowboys came down field quickly. And they spiked the ball.
They should have run it at them.
The Packer defenders were gassed at that point. And they could not sub.
We run that play and get yardage and we roll them off the field at that point.

Zeke led all RB in carries how much more?
The article talks about getting him involved in the passing game more, which is fine by me.

But will it take catches away from somebody else. Who will be the sacrificial lamb? Dez?, Beasley?, Williams? Most likely it will be Jason Witten who will see his receptions numbers drop.

I can actually see it being Garrett. Just because he always used to get cute like that when he didnt have to. Its like hes trying to prove hes smarter then other people at times. As soon as we came out throwing in the GB game i knew we were in trouble. We literally rolled over them at lambeau and Zeke had something like 150+ yards. Why the hell wouldnt we run it down their throats all game in the playoffs? lol. Makes no sense

What's your point?

Point is at what point does it become too much? I hated losing to GB but it was the defense who hurt us not Zeke not getting enough touches. I felt Dallas used great balance in their offense with Zeke. If this team has an issue it is not Zeke not getting the ball enough it is a defense who has to be protected.

Easy to say. Tougher to do when one drive was compromised by a sack and the next by a ten yard penalty. And we still maintained nearly a 50/50 run pass split those first series.

The actual problem was the defense being unable to stop Rodgers the first three times he got the ball. Tough to be 'done by halftime' when you score every time you touch the ball.

Dallas ran Zeke 22 times in the game. Big difference in game 1 vs GB and the 2nd meeting was Rodgers was off the mark early in the season he was on the money at post season.

I don't think it's an either/or issue, it's both.

I don't think anyone is saying that Zeke didn't get enough carries, but that it was asinine to take him off of the field on 3rd downs for a stupid "Dunbar role" that never did anything but to signal a defense that they don't have to play balanced or worry about the run.

I think the Cowboys need to be mindful of the touches he is getting in the game. Again my issue is not with the Cowboys offense it was the defense who has hurt us. Hopefully addressing defense in the draft will make a difference along with getting Jaylon Smith and Charles Tapper on the field.

Fact is in the playoffs Dallas surpassed their avg yardage putting up 429 yards they put up 31 points. Come on, anyone coming down on offense is off their rocker.

Dunbar is gone guys like McFadden will be counted on to come in even in some 3rd down situations

The main key is that the team purposely dialed back on Zeke's playing time toward the end of the season in order to have him fresh for the Playoffs. Them not utilizing Zeke more, particularly early in the game, was baffling.

We were down by a lot in a hurry against GB. We had to throw.

Nobody runs the ball when they are down multiple scores like that.
