In no particular order:

1. Wasting years on a coach in training (Garrett)
2. Not letting Romo start and play the rest of Dak’s rookie season.
3. Paying Zeke outrageous money
4. Paying Dak outrageous money
5. Paying Tank outrageous money
6. Bringing in Nolan as DC
7. Drafting Taco
8. Drafting Joseph
9. Not cutting Dez sooner
10. Not moving on from Witten sooner
11. Failure to invest in a legit 1 tech.

Future mistakes (crystal ball)

1. Paying Diggs
2. Not trading Diggs
3. Not cutting Zeke
4. Not looking for competition/legit alternative for Dak starting immediately.

I was 100 percent sure Elliott was going to be cut and Pollard signed to a new deal.

The injury to Pollard has now thrown a monkey wrench into making those moves.

sticking with garrett.
that change should've been made sooner.
didn't like giving in to the zeke holdout...if they had drafted fsu rb dalvin cook...maybe they don't.
but for me...it was hangin' in there with ol' 8-8 for so long.

How? Do you think this is the 1800’s and they are going to have to amputate? A broken ankle is a 12 week recovery time at worst. Pollard will be 100% by spring training without question

Most of those don't impact the 2022 season on-field performances:
  • 1. Wasting years on a coach in training (Garrett)
    • Not relevant to 2022.
  • 2. Not letting Romo start and play the rest of Dak’s rookie season.
    • Silly. Romo's body was done.
  • 3. Paying Zeke outrageous money
    • Not relevant to 2022. They could have restructured many contracts to make more 2022 cap space.
  • 4. Paying Dak outrageous money
    • Not relevant to 2022. They could have restructured many contracts to make more 2022 cap space.
  • 5. Paying Tank outrageous money
    • Not relevant to 2022. They could have restructured many contracts to make more 2022 cap space.
  • 6. Bringing in Nolan as DC
    • Not relevant to 2022.
  • 7. Drafting Taco
    • Minimal relevance to 2022. If Taco was good, he would be on a 2nd contract. They could have signed another team's free agent for the same cost.
  • 8. Drafting Joseph
    • Finally, something relevant to the 2022 season; although, maybe not to the playoff loss.
    • Was the 3rd CB an issue vs the Niners?
    • The Niners 2nd and 3rd WRs only had 2 catches each for a total of 26 yards.
    • Side Note: If the offense had performed, Joseph would be a hero of the game with the forced fumble.
  • 9. Not cutting Dez sooner
    • Not relevant to 2022.
    • Signing him to the big contract was the mistake.
  • 10. Not moving on from Witten sooner
    • Not relevant to 2022.
  • 11. Failure to invest in a legit 1 tech.
    • Bingo.
    • The run defense was great vs the Niners but this issue probably cost them the #1 seed.

1st list is pretty complete. Only thing that jumps out is ignoring the safety position for years. But it's not a stretch to say that all coaching failures were a direct result of allowing JG to be here so I think you indirectly covered it.

Oh wait a minute you missed a BIG one!! Drafting & letting Jaylon pretend to be a starting LBer!!

Lesser but still pretty egregious, not utilizing TP's skillset for like 5 years.

Bringing in Rod Marinelli and Monte Kiffin(2013) needs to be on the list somewhere.

The injury to his foot as a RB is a negative in free agency. Free agency will be over by the time you say he is 100 percent.

Your buying a race horse but it has a bad hoof. It will heal, but you think about it before making the deal. It's a factor.

part of the reason Zeke got that deal was BECAUSE of Garrett. Garrett was old school and trying to re-create the 90s Cowboys. He rode Zeke to death....Zekes people saw the play and got out ahead of it. I cannot stress how badly this organization was setback staying in bed with Garrett for 10 years. In 2 years with the Giants their offense went from 2nd to last to last. I guess since there was nowhere else for the offense to fall...they fired him after 2 years. One year later they were playing in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs.

Parting ways with Amari Cooper for no good reason
AND, for only getting a bag of peanuts for him, after running his value down with negative comments to the media.
I tell you, you cant make this stuff up!
Amatuers running the front office , I tell ya!

Monte Kiffin has got to be on the biggestistake list. Talk about trash defenses, and then they double down and make his running mate DC. Letting Marinelli have any type of say in personnel decisions is also a huge mistake. Him not valuing the DT anchor rubbed off on the personnel deparent.
