As we start to look forward to FA and the draft, what in your opinion is the biggest hole we need to fix before next season. obviously, we aren't getting rid of Garrett so let's leave that out of the conversation.

I'm torn between a couple of positions...OT and TE being at the top of the list

1. Should something happen to Tyron or Lael or both, I really think we are doomed for the season without a doubt, unless a reliable FA or a young stud OL is drafted.

2. TE- I think we have been very fortunate that Witten has been able to stay healthy, i think of him like i think of Lee on defense, if Witten were to get injured i really feel we have nobody on this roster who can replace him.

3. WR isn't on my list, but I feel like its a position of concern, depending on what we ultimately do with Dez.

1) I agree with you ,the team must address that O.T. position this off season
2) L.B. is of a much more imperative concern ,considering they've kept Hanna& Swami, then there's the RICO, they put in cloak mode, besides they ain't gonna hurt #82 to begin with, we need a 1 tech DT,DE& and a premiere if not 'shut down' corner/ safety( that,Chideo ain't looking that bad in the future going forward)

3) that place kicking position should be of an infinitely more pressing concern to the organization than a W.R. this draft,,,we need more Linebackers / dual usage first & foremost players IMO, then solidify that place kicking postition ,,,,plug that breach in the O.L. within the first 2 rounds of the draft though.
(And I hate saying that,too)

Jerry
Garrett
Linehan

Those "holes"
" many a slip between cup& lip",,,heh, ShortRound131?
It could happen at the drop of a Johnnie Walker Blue label bottle,,,but it's not really looking like that huh?
just kick back and feign concern over the rapidly decreasing revenues fortress A.T.T. STADIUM continually endures,ya buddy! The league is engaged in a war of attrition with& against itself,,,, that wrestling Phnom McMahon is fixing the resurrect the 2001 defunct XFL in early to mid 2020,,,I'll probably go with a cable/ Satellite service provider to follow that venture,,, the smugness of the N.F.L. with its movers& shakers are rudely fixing to find out what playing second fiddle sounds like in their half capacity stadiums .

LEFT TACKLE

We can all agree on the swing tackle need.
I'm still good with Rico till he shows me he's not the answer.
DT is my other concern as we all know,
I'd take a WR if he's there.

Left Guard.

As things stand Bell, Looney and Cooper are out of contract and Chaz Green is completely unreliable fitness wise and just not that good. We don't have a starting left guard. There are other positions that are a concern in terms of depth or that the starting options are just okay, but that is the only position that is a concern in terms of who's starting and we're a run-first offense that is built around our offensive line.

Left tackle that can start all 16 games would be tops on my list. Followed by a middle linebacker that can stay healthy and finish a 16 game schedule. Then a speedy wr that can run all the routes on a route tree.

left guard is def. a must...agree.

The Cowboys have weaknesses up and down the roster. The team needs to hit the free agency market, make trades, and draft the best players available no matter what position. Will Jerry and Stephen do that?

would love the OT Parker in the draft. He is built similar to Tyron. He's had a nice week. The other guy is Will Hernandez. WOULD LOVE HIM AT LEFT GUARD. I wouldnt hesitate to draft either at 50..or trade back up for either one.

me thinks Kris Richard and Sanjay will have a better barometer as we get closer to free agency, and can tell the real GM...which is Will MCclay ..who to go get in FA/trades etc. We were exposed last year.

.Here's what scares me at the tightend position. Number 1..Witten can't run anymore, not much of a threat(slow). Number 2...Swaim cannot stay healthy. Three...Hanna is more of a 1 trick pony and isn't young either. Lastly,Rico Gathers is very raw..unproven and a project. Now saying all this..are we REALLY going to put our faith into that group again? I saw a deep tight end group this week at the Senior Bowl. HOPEFULLY our scouts are taking a hard look at them.I like the Smythe kid from Notre Dame...he is sneaky good and runs great routes..great hands. Can be had on day 3.

Yep, it's been 3 bad years of free agents.

I'm hoping we target one of the good 1 techs (Poe, Logan, Lotulelei) and bring back Hitchens and Lawrence along with some of the cheaper guys (LP, K.Smith, etc)

If it's me I'm cutting Hanna and putting my trust in Witten, Rico, Swaim, and Jarwan. I still think Witten can get us 500 yards receiving next year and if Rico can contribute half that then that represents an improvement in the TE group. IMO there's bigger holes and we still don't seem to take Witten off the field anyway.

The Eagles were the worst team in the East in 2016. They hit free agency, drafted well, then finished it off with trades. The Cowboys are a better team then the Eagles were in 2016. The blue print is there. Jerry needs to do it. Earl Thomas wants to be here. Get it done.

Watch out for a day 2 sneaky good pick...the kid from Penn State WR- Hamilton. He blew up the Senior Bowl this week ...caught everything...exceptional speed and route running. Looked like Emmanuel Sanders and a Antonio Brown hybrid. At 50 I got no problem with that pick...as long as we address the oline at 19. I think like you said...in FA we can address the defense.

like what your saying..I just dunno if we can take that chance. Rico will have to had improved immensely. We need a threat at tightend..we dont have one now. Defenses can crowd the line of scrimmage because they know Witten cant run. THATS A PROBLEM. Ian Thomas from Indiana would also be intriguing. He can run and catch..
