Or we're just not a good team.
7-7 in an awful NFL seems about right.
The only remaining question for me this year is whether we win the Super Bowl.
Here we go, pretending you were right when you gave up prematurely weeks ago. You really want to start that up again, Risen? I told you at the time you're going to get no credit for giving up prematurely. Take all the victory laps you want. There isn't going to be a shortage of people willing to hold your cape for you while you wave at the crowd.
We're not a good team right now. We're not a good team, because we can't stop anybody on defense. And we cant' stop anybody on defense because, you nailed it: it's the play of our OGs and the antics of our GM and his son. Good work. Oh, wait.
We played well on defense in the first half, playing with press corners and with a real MLB on the field. The linebackers went out, we were soft in the middle against the run. We gave up a 60 yard run in the opening series in the second half. We cut down on the blitzing. It was pretty obvious what changed at the half yesterday.
And, yes, the chances of making the post season get slimmer when you lose late season games. They get slimmer yet when you lose more starters. I'll agree with you that the already slim playoff odds every single one of us recognized and quoted previously got a lot slimmer yesterday, if that makes you feel any better about having given up sooner than everybody else in order to pretend you have any special foresight. That isn't a validation of anything you said previously, though. You jumped the gun, betting on the likelihood of an outcome. As I said at the time, that doesn't make you Nostradamus in a Cowboy hat.
