Biggest reason why Jerry is optimistic: Dak Prescott

Let me ask you a genuine question...so the constant hate or criticism of Dak....is the goal to do this until he gets released or what's going?
Jerry's compliment was an example of damning with faint praise. "Best he's ever been..." - in year 8 on the heels of (no doubt) demanding to be the highest paid NFL player? Yeah...he ought to be...

Yeah, other than not talking at all, what’s he supposed to say? I guess he could tell the truth and say “we are missing vital pieces on both our defensive and offensive lines to be a contender” but that’s not flashy material
Anything but what he said.

Not failure when you own the most valuable franchise in sports and revenue grows year after year. Dak is not a winner but certainly helps keep the mirage of success that is the Dallas Cowboys.
I don’t think the franchise value crossed anyone’s mind as Jerry was essentially trying to insinuate the five seed being better than the two.

“I think Dak is the best he’s been in his career”

What's Jerry going to say after the Cowboys fail to win the super bowl?

I guess Dak's best isn't good enough? No he is going to give him an ungodly extension.
Just because Jerry says Dak is playing the best he's been right now, doesn't mean next year he's not even better in Jerry's eyes. When Jerry invests that ungodly extension money into Dak you best believe that's only going to make Dak's talent and skill even better in Jerry's mind.

Jerry was optimistic during the Dave Campo era too. I can’t remember a team he wasn’t “optimistic” about.
Exactly. The man is an easy read. Always has been. Some observers run into a self-made brick wall of their own making because they think he will SPONTANEOUSLY start thinking as they do.

Too be fair, what CEO doesn't express optimism to the public?

I also find it hilarious all the complaining about what Jerry says...not sure what the purpose of it is??? To change someone's mind/opinion? To change the outcome of situation? Just to whine and complain? The last one is the only one impact that the whiners have. Honestly, it males me laugh.

And to those who complain about Dak getting another contract, the odds are highly in favor of JJ giving him a pretty big contract so you really have 4 options, 1) find a new team to root for, 2) stop watching Cowboys football altogether, 3) accept the reality of the situation, 4) complain til you're blue in the face with the realization no one whi is in a position of authority of the Cowboys is really paying attention to you. Have fun with your choices.

I find it funny that people complain about people complaining on a fan message board.

I'll be satisfied if he could pull his head out of his butt and show up against the better teams of the NFL. Wake me up when that happens. And by the way, why not stick with saying someone is critical rather than resorting to childish names like 'hater'? We're not in junior high.

You know as well as anyone this team is going to get stomped in the playoffs.
He beat the eagles for starters but discounting that (which I know you will) if he beat a “better team” you would just discredit that by saying “talk to me when we make it to a championship game or super bowl”. Don’t have an issue with people not liking dak but the goal post moving will always be there by you and others until he wins a super bowl - which is such a low hanging fruit casual argument

That's not a genuine question at all that's like asking someone why do you beat your wife. People have a right to criticize a guy who's never got past the first round and to criticize the idiot owner and GM who keeps telling us this guy is Tom Brady
Sorry I was talking to @acr731….but thank for your unneeded input here and completely answering the wrong question.
