I know it'll never happen....but just curious what this board thinks of him, personally as a coach? With this crop of talent (yes, I still believe we are uber-talented), would a hardnose guy like him, will us to more victories than Redball?

his tough guy demeanor would come in handy...

And this board will implode in 5...4...3...2...1. ..^^...^^...^^..^..^.^..................................................................

Maybe not him per se, but I'd love to have a coach like him. JG is just way too robotic for my tastes.

I would LOVE for him to come and coach this team. He is a terrific coach that doesn't put up with crap.

I'll give Garrett two more years to see if he can turn this thing around. He may turn out to be an absolute failure but it seems like he is trying to change the culture and build something from the ground up, which usually takes at least a couple of years. If he is able to do it right, it will set the team to be competitive every year, although we may not see the fruits of his labor in the first couple of years.

Yours and mine both!. I have been thinking the thing that made Jimmy unique was he had a good football mind w/ the necessary passion when needed. Can you imagine what our locker room would have looked like after half time yesterday if Jimmy was coaching? Granted I don't think Jimmy would be successful in today's NFL of salary caps, roster limitations, etc., but he knew how to motivate and call a good game.

I'm also tired of DeCamillis and Ryan, whom I have concluded is a big blow-hard. Of course it goes back to who will work for Jerry and who won't which is why we are going to see a lot more of these failures for the next 10-20 years...

I think Cowher is a product of the system they have in Pittsburgh. Stable ownership that doesn't get in the way or pull the plug on coaches at the drop of a hat. Pitt also has a sure fire defensive coordinator that has been in place for a long time which doesn't hurt either.

Craig

I'd rather find the next Harbaugh then sign old Bill Cowher.

YES!!!! i might cry if this happened.

what a fantastic coach he was. ben burger had a 27 QB rating or something and he still won the superbowl

Yea... he could bring all those superbowl trophies with him...... oh, wait!

I dont know - if there is a true culture change, its usually drastic and immediate.

Look at what Bill did in his first year....

Yes the wins may come later but, you would see an immediate change somewhere.

This past week was perfect to see if we truly have changed since last year and look what happened.

Its one thing if we lost in a well fought battle but the way we lost...wow and all the talk about the 24 hour rule ect

And how long was he in Pittsburgh...with all that talent they supposedly have had throughout the years.....too get a SB....

Can his hiring be coordinated with the myocardial infarction Jerry suffers?

Because that's the only way he could come here and be effective.

Absolutely.

Would we be willing to wait for 14 years for a Super Bowl?
