Bill Nagy highlights

Looks good to me. Big guy. Moves pretty well, gets to the second level really fast. Buries a guy in that last video at about 4:20 in. Looked good against Michigan.

Really not much to dislike about this guy. I assumed as the 3rd last pick in the draft he'd be developmental scrub type, but he started in those games and looked pretty damn good to me. Certainly doesn't look like a backup filling in for a guy.

Truthfully, he's not really a backup. He was slated to be a starter and then had a moped accident that sidelined him. Since Wisconsin is basically OL University, they had other guys step up and play well so he became the 6th man and filled in all over the place. He would have been a starter at 99% of every other college out there and probably drafted on day 2 or early day 3. I think he is a steal where we got him. Garrett had inside info on him from Chryst and kept him in his back pocket all draft long.

looks pretty good to me, definitely plays through the whistle

only thing i noticed as a negative was on just about all the goal line situation plays when he was playing center i saw him getting pushed back by his man.

since he is likely going to be a G/C in the NFL he'll need to work on that

other than that he looked impressive

I thik Wis is one of the best coached offensive line in college football. I'm sure Paul Chryst conversation went a long way in taking Nagy in the 7th rd.

Eh.. Couldn't really tell a whole lot from this stuff.

He needs to get more consistent with chopping his feet on initial contact.

At time he did it and at times he just got dead footed.

He was really good at getting himself between the defender and the ball and looked halfway decent at pulling.

There just wasn't enough to go by for me to come to any kind of conclusion about the guy there.

I saw the same things. Granted, this is just a small portion of his work. I actually was more impressed with his blocking when pulling than when he was block in-line straight up.

As a rookie in the NFL, he's obviously NOT as strong as he needs to be yet (which is why Phil Costa is ahead of him developmentally). He only bench 225lbs 26 times while most interior NfL lineman he'll face are strong as mules and can bench press 225lbs probably at least 34 times or they wouldn't be starting. Stephen Paea benched 225lbs 49 times and I'm sure most 'starting' defense tackles or nose guards are nearly as strong!!!! So, yeah, I can SEE Bill Nagy getting 'pushed back' on goal-line as a starting center in his rookie year. But, put him on goal-line as an extra TE (like they did at Wisconsin) and he'll win those battles and move the pile!!!! I expect him to be stashed on the practice squad this year unless we have several injuries to the OL!!!

26 reps is still a good number. I think he might need more lower body work.

yeah that's the thing people for get bench press is good but you also have to have strong legs and back.

But john moffitt only did 23.

Big kid. It's good that he came from Wisconsin cause they have a good coach and OL tradition. He still is a long shot to make the squad, but he at least he came from good background.

He is a lock for the practice squad. The final 53 might be a challenge for now.

I agree. I like him alot for where we drafted him. Without that scooter accident, he probably is a two year starter and much higher draft pick. I also think he could have started for nearly every other college team out there last year. Right now, it looks like he may be in a one on one battle with Costa for a roster spot but his versatility could change that if he has a good camp. He could prove to be too valuable to let go because he can play every OL position and come in as a TE on short yardage and goalline plays.
