Yeah... they were right... we're better...

We might not have a Revis, but they don't have a DeMarcus Ware. That said I'll take Newman and Ware over Revis and Pace...

Wonder what it would look like with Jenkins out there, Lee healthy...

To be fair, their WRs are atrocious. We really benefited from that today.

The Jets run a different kind of defenisve philosophy with lots of man-to-man press coverage on the WRs and a bevy of overload blitzes that are disguised well.

However, I don't think we are better than the Jets defensively. Rob Ryan doesn't mind giving up yards and he is not nearly as blitz-happy as his brother is. We play lots of straight up zone.

I think the one thing we are missing to get to the elite level is another good pass rusher to complement Ware. I really hope we either draft one or alternatively sign an experienced vet who wants to become a nickel pass rush specialist for us. It will make a big difference in our 3rd down defense and in our closing out the game defense.

Otherwise all we need on defense is health (Lee, Jenkins) and a bit of experience (Bruce Carter, Barry Church).

Spiller dropped a bomb and Fitzpatrick missed a wide open WR deep down the middle. Then there was that end zone pass on 4th down that was a bit too tall. There are 3 scores they left on the field.

WR are Attrocious?? Oh, I get it, its because it can't be Cowboys D or DBs. Its their WR that were attrocious, nothing to do with Pressure by Front 7 or DBs playing pretty well.

On the other hand, I guess, their RB is awesome and our Run D sucks, because of Cowboys DL/LB are bad at stopping Run?

Unfortunately for the Bills we're not the Jet's offense either.

Not even close. They found that out the hard way today.

I guess excuses only apply to opposing team not cowboys? Got it.

Joke post. You are completely unworthy of that avatar.

At what point did I say our defense played bad?

I'm just saying, a couple of our big plays were the result of poor WR play...nothing more, nothing less.

No, you pretty much said, there is not much credit to be given to Cowboys D. Or most of the credit should go to Buffalo WRs playing bad.

Meanwhile, Seattle is seems to be beating Ravens, unless they have melt down in next 11 minutes. I supposed, Cowboys D doesn't deserve much Kudo last week, but just blame Tavaris Jackson for having a crappy game.;)

If that's how you read it, so be it. But that's not what I said.

And to be fair, those atrocious WR's that "we really benefited from today" are the same ones that just played against the Jets defense they stated we weren't (I assume implying as good as).

Not seeing how that situation changed because of opponents.

Our D was good but benefited big time from our O scoring on every drive.

What you saw was what happened to us against the iggles. Mid way through the 1st quarter, their offenses game plan was out the window thanks to our offense. That helped our D big time.

Our did great, bit they were aided greatlt today by the offense.

For Buffalo this was similar to Cowboys/Eagles a couple weeks ago. Get down a couple scores early, get out of your game plan, get embarrassed.

I understand their point. They were questioning our ability to play man coverage across the board especially with Jenkins out. They had some guys open but overall we won that battle.

That's true. I don't know how they played against the Jets though, but they made a lot of mistakes today. To me, it looked like 2 of our picks were the direct result of their WRs not doing their job.

The first Newman pick went right off the hands of the WR.
Walker's looked like the guy ran the wrong route.

Not to mention the ball that Spiller dropped and that Jones got his hands on in the end zone and dropped.

I'm not trying to say that the defense didn't play well, they obviously did (despite Jackson averaging 9 yards per carry or whatever). But there's not a doubt in my mind that Buffalo shot themselves in the foot a couple of times.
