Terrell Owens is the best example of everything that is WRONG with the NFL.
The game of Football is secondary to Fame and Fortune and the next gig in the entertainment business.

There is no dening his enormous talent but he is not a player I want on my team.

So, Put the Leagues biggest hotdog on national TV when the story in Dallas is all about the Cowboys and not about Terrell Owens then something is about to give.

Here is Terrell Owens priorities in order of importance..

#1 Make sure the camera's are on me.

#2 Put on a show

#3 Get the Media talking about me

#4 Win the football game if posible.

You can take it to the Bank...Terrell Owens has a after touchdown routine ready for the minute he crosses the goal line and it will be nothing more then
Terrell Owens performing the above #1-#3.....

The National Media has been predicting that Terrell Owens will do something stupid soon as the spotlight has been on Romo and not on himself.

Poor Terrell Owens has been getting NO CREDIT for making Romo a star in the eyes of the media.

We have already gone 4 weeks without a T.O. league embarrassment....that must be some kind of record for Terrell Owens!

I am sure Terrell Owens will working on a new little dance that he plans on using Monday night and hopefully we will never see it.

He is very much so jealous as their number 1 receiver has like 11 catches for 101 yards in 4 weeks.

I will admit when TO is not on your team you dont know everything.

I thought I didnt want the guy either.. but then I listed to all three sides of the story.... his side, their side and the real story in between

Seems like the Bills fans are drinking the kool-aid that ESPN serves up about TO.
Until TO was on the Cowboys I did not know about how ESPN makes up stories to get a reaction and ratings.
Real journalism is a thing of the past in Bristol.

The only thing that challenged my assertion that TO was a jerk in Philly was that, by all accounts, his teammates(with one notable exception) loved him.
TO is just a small-town kid with big city football skills.
I don't think he still quite knows how to reconcile that. He wants the spotlight but doesn't always know what to do with it.
Dallas got him at the perfect time, though. He knows this is his last big payday and he if blows up here he never makes the same kind of money again.
And if he was going to blow up, it would of been last year.
With him not being used to best exploit his talent, with a ball-patting, cement-footed QB, and a cranky old man calling the shots and refusing to even address him by name. If that didn't push TO over the edge here nothing will.
Besides, he seems to genuinely admire and respect Romo. And Romo has taken this team and put his stamp on it. And TO is very dependent on Romo to get him his attention.
As much as I disliked TO in the past I just don't see him being a problem in Dallas.

Very sensible post. To be honest, I didn't pay much attention to him while he was at SF, but I have been an Owens fan, .. since probably when Rice left SF.

I took up for him since even prior to him coming here. I am glad that others have stopped drinking the media kool-aid and are seeing him for what he is now.

He is a major asset on this team, and I'm glad he's here.

I agree. TO is a great teammate first and foremost. TO is like most any high profile player. Make him feel loved, ask him input in the gameplans (just for peace of mind), and throw him the damn ball and he is all world for you.

Actually I am surprised most of the post were level headed and factual except the post of the guy that started the thread, you would almost hink he was a Skins or Beagles fan.

I was not particularly happy with his coming to Dallas but I never hated the guy` I am very happy to have him here and he has done nothing to cause alarm` The way he flew past Crayton last week amazed me and I was already amazed with his talent`

theres actually a couple of smart posters that aint drinkin the ESPN kool aid and recognize that T.O isnt as bad as ESPN and others in the media have made him out to be. i think its been clear that T.O has always just wanted to feel loved by his team. which he has here in Dallas
