I liked him, but he had some health issues here, if I recall correctly.

No big loss.

{Looks at depth chart with Lenny Jones and Zach Wood}

The real depth is Mayowa, Lawrence, Tapper, Moore and possibly Irving. If we don't add any other ends (which I hope isn't the case), then Davis might have had a shot at making the roster, but there's still four to five ahead of him. The only other way we're going to have to reach deep into our depth is if Lawrence and Tapper continue to have back issues.

I'd be surprised if two defensive weren't added in the first three rounds.

True, but unless something happens with Carr, I think CB becomes the top priority (not mine, of course). Add in safety and possibly OT, I can see them talking themselves into the idea that they have enough and then avoid pass rusher early. Not that Davis was a big part of that thought process, just thinking out loud.

I will bet you on that one.

This organization counts bodies. If they see two or three "deep", they will lower the priority.

Remember, Marinelli is all about having meeting rooms where everyone has a seat.

With Lawrence's back being career threatening, and Tapper's status in doubt, I think defensive end has to be a top priority.

The only thing that concerns me on this move is whether the Bills gave him enough money to count in the compensatory draft pick calculation. I am thinking that they probably did not but crossing my fingers.

Possibly.

I can see them thinking that adding Carroll is enough as far as truly addressing corner since he was a 16-game starter last season. Then I can see them eyeing Green as the starting right tackle and even possibly eyeing Heath as the starting strong safety.

I don't like any of those ideas, but the Cowboys' goal in free agency seems to only be not having any absolute holes to fill. If they don't see these as absolute holes, then either they have more plans to fill them (which is entirely possible) or they are satisfied with these choices if need be.

I'll be surprised if we do that. I think we'll add one then and possibly one later in the draft.

I thought he was a restricted free agent? Maybe we never tendered him so he became a UFA?

It absolutely better be. Re-sign one or both of Mo and Carr. Our Ends are underwhelming (being nice) when compared to a championship-caliber D.

At one point our secondary graded out as 4th in the league (pre-Mo injury), we need help at DE.

Gah!
