No big loss.
{Looks at depth chart with Lenny Jones and Zach Wood}
I'd be surprised if two defensive weren't added in the first three rounds.The real depth is Mayowa, Lawrence, Tapper, Moore and possibly Irving. If we don't add any other ends (which I hope isn't the case), then Davis might have had a shot at making the roster, but there's still four to five ahead of him. The only other way we're going to have to reach deep into our depth is if Lawrence and Tapper continue to have back issues.

I will bet you on that one.I'd be surprised if two defensive weren't added in the first three rounds.

This organization counts bodies. If they see two or three "deep", they will lower the priority.
Remember, Marinelli is all about having meeting rooms where everyone has a seat.
True, but unless something happens with Carr, I think CB becomes the top priority (not mine, of course). Add in safety and possibly OT, I can see them talking themselves into the idea that they have enough and then avoid pass rusher early. Not that Davis was a big part of that thought process, just thinking out loud.

With Lawrence's back being career threatening, and Tapper's status in doubt, I think defensive end has to be a top priority.
