Binoculars Recommendation

Hey All,

My wife and I are taking our kids to see their first Cowboys game this weekend. We are in the upper deck this time (4 people instead of 2), so we will be pretty far from the action Was thinking of getting a couple pair of compact binoculars from Amazon so the kids can check things out better.

Does anyone have a recommendation as far as the power we will need? I was thinking 8 x 25, but if someone has some real world experience, with binoculars at the stadium, would love to hear it.

You don't need binoculars. And please yell when we're on defense. Thanks. :)

If you're going to use them once or infrequently then an inexpensive one with a wide field and some zoom. Optics is unimportant for infrequent use. If you're going to use them to bird watch, study the moon, look at Jupiter or Saturn, or use them in frequent boating then that changes. I'd recommend stabilization, water resistant or proof, sturdy design and good or better optics from a good optics company. These are expensive. $50 ones is likely all you need. Or even less for opera style which is probably what you need.

Excellent. My wife, two daughters and my best friend and his wife are also attending this weekend. Lower level 200's. My youngest cannot wait. And neither can Daddy!

I've sat on the very last row of the very highest section before and was fine because of the jumbo tron. Now if you wanna be able to observe the coaches/players on the sideline in between plays, which is always fun, then you definitely need binoculars.

I'm an astronomer so I've got several pairs of binos. My all purpose binos are 7x35. They are light and do a good job. If you get higher power ones, they start to get heavy.

I have a set of these and they work great, but mine are almost 35 years old. Not sure if they are the same quality these days.

If it's less than the price of some inexpensive ones then love this route.

$25 and you have a permanent set. I'm going to guess if you rent a pair, you are going to pay at least half that amount for just three hours of use.

If this is your first game, you ABSOLUTELY need binoculars. Not so much for watching the game, but for scanning the sidelines and whatnot during the game and commercial breaks. There's always stuff going on along the sidelines that interesting.

Also, get there early so you don't miss the cool stuff they do on the jumbo tron before the game.

I miss theebs reports from three hours before the start of a home game.

Pictures of players arriving, who talks with who.....

How big a lense will the Falcons let someone take to the game?

They also have the ones that take pictures now.. So you can zoom and take up to 12 Megapixel photos. Easily searchable on google. Just a thought.

Make placards NOISE and QUIET and use it when opponents are in offense and our offense respectively.
